This morning, May 31, the University of Transport held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Party Committee Secretary, Vice President of the University of Transport, to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council for the 2020-2025 term.
Before holding the position of Chairman of the University Council, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong was Vice Principal of the University of Transport. Mr. Chuong replaced his predecessor, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Long, who retired under the regime.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, born in 1970, is a former student of the 29th course of the University of Transport and then became a lecturer at the Faculty of Transport - Economics, Department of Tourism Transport Economics, Head of the Department of Political and Student Affairs (from 2004-2010); Head of the Department of University Training (from 2010-2017) before taking on the position of Vice Principal of the University of Transport since 2017.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong is a person who has directly participated in teaching, has been well-trained, matured and experienced many positions at the University of Transport.
The leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training believe that with his experience and enthusiasm, Mr. Chuong will create solidarity and build the University of Transport to develop more and more.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong expressed his gratitude to all staff and lecturers in the school for their trust and support in nominating him to hold the important position of Chairman of the School Board.
Mr. Chuong said this is an honor but also a heavy responsibility for himself and the school to continue promoting the school's position and reputation.
The new Chairman of the University of Transport Council also said that he will strive to contribute his strength and intelligence to further develop the school in the future.
