During the past term, the movements and campaigns coordinated and implemented synchronously and effectively by the Fatherland Front at all levels, typically the Campaigns: "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods"; Emulation Movement: " Soc Trang joins hands to build new rural areas" for the period 2021 - 2025; "Soc Trang joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" for the period 2021 - 2025, ... have promoted the strength of the great national solidarity bloc, truly bringing practical meaning to social life, receiving the support of all classes of people.
In particular, during the past term, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Soc Trang province mobilized over 431 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund; supported the construction and repair of over 8,200 houses for poor households in difficult circumstances and those facing housing difficulties (exceeding 400% of the Resolution target and increasing 4 times compared to the previous term); mobilized over 556,000 gifts for the poor and people in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, with a total value of over 237 billion VND; mobilized over 129 billion VND from the Relief Fund (6 times higher than the previous term); mobilized funds for epidemic prevention and control (money, goods, and objects) worth 264 billion VND, etc.
Thereby, the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Party building, government building, and promoting people's mastery has been increasingly affirmed; arousing and promoting people's mastery in building the political system at the grassroots level; focusing on caring for and protecting interests and gathering and reflecting the legitimate and just aspirations of the people to the Party and State; helping Party committees and authorities effectively resolve problems and issues arising at the grassroots level; maintaining and stabilizing political security, order and social safety in the province...
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau commended and appreciated the results that the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Soc Trang province and its member organizations have achieved in the past term 2019 - 2024.
Looking forward to the goals and tasks in the new term, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau suggested that the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Soc Trang province focus on assessing the shortcomings, limitations and difficulties of the province and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province to focus on solutions to remove and overcome as well as make recommendations and advise on implementation. Vice President To Bich Chau suggested a number of issues for the Congress to continue studying as well as suggested that the Provincial Front focus on implementing in the coming time.
“Focus on successfully implementing the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term; focus on implementing the goal: “By 2030, Soc Trang will be one of the fairly developed provinces in the Mekong Delta region, with developed industry, trade, services, modern and sustainable agriculture ... National defense, security and order are ensured, people have a prosperous, civilized and happy life” in the spirit of Decision No. 995 of the Prime Minister on approving the Soc Trang Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.” Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau emphasized.
Vice President To Thi Bich Chau suggested, “it is necessary to focus on innovating implementation methods, paying attention to propaganda and mobilizing people of all walks of life to participate in patriotic emulation campaigns and movements launched by the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front; in which, the focus is the Campaign “All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas”, “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods”. Focus on implementing well the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to “Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” in 2025 launched by the Prime Minister and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 6th Action Program “Building self-governing, united, prosperous and happy residential areas” in the spirit of adaptation and conformity between the general policy of the Central Government and the actual situation of the locality.”
At the same time, Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau also requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations to strongly promote socialist democracy, improve the substance of social supervision and criticism, and contribute ideas to build a clean and strong Party and State in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 18 of the Secretariat on promoting the role, improving the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Imbued with the viewpoint of "taking the people as the root", protecting and determined to best protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of citizens. Proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people to promptly inform and make recommendations to Party committees, authorities, and functional agencies for satisfactory solutions; creating consensus among the people. On the basis of the general policy, it is recommended that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province closely follow and perform well the task of participating in organizing the election of the 16th National Assembly and the election of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau also requested the Provincial Front to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, increase the application of information technology; implement the policy of focusing on the grassroots, consolidate the organization, improve working capacity, especially the propaganda and mobilization skills of the Front's staff at the grassroots level. In line with the Central's policy, in the 2024 - 2029 term, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is requested to be determined and persistent in promoting the training and fostering of staff in the Front system. Proactively propose advice to the Party Committee, strengthen coordination with the provincial departments, branches and sectors, enhance the role of presiding and negotiating for unified action among member organizations.
The Congress elected 92/95 (3 vacancies) delegates to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province, term X, 2024 - 2029. At the same time, it also elected a delegation of 7 official delegates (2 reserve) to attend the upcoming 10th Central Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.
The new term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province also consulted and elected Mr. Ngo Hung, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh Chau Town Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province, term X, 2024 - 2029.
