Maximize resource mobilization
The policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households in the province has been vigorously implemented by the entire political system of the province, with the determination to complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the list approved by the Provincial People's Committee by June 30, 2025. To achieve the set goals, in addition to the focused leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the active and responsible participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, member organizations, sectors, and localities in the province, there is also the support of organizations and individuals inside and outside the province, along with the high consensus and response of the people of the province.
Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dang Thi Phuong said that by May 30, 2025, the whole province had started construction on 1,836/1,947 houses, reaching 94.2%, of which 1,158 houses had been completed, reaching 59.48%. The total funding requirement is 100.65 billion VND. Of which, sufficient budget funds have been allocated to support households with meritorious services, poor households, and near-poor households (both phases) for 1,541/2,101 houses with a total cost of 70.77 billion VND. As for the remaining 560 houses belonging to households with housing difficulties, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has taken the lead in mobilizing cadres, civil servants, people, companies, and enterprises inside and outside the province... With the spirit of "Those who have contributed, contribute, those who have contributed, contribute little, those who have contributed much", so far, enough funds have been mobilized to support 560/560 households with difficulties, with a budget of nearly 30 billion VND.
Mrs. Le Thi Tu, Hoi An hamlet, Da Phuoc Hoi commune (Mo Cay Nam) was so happy that she couldn't sleep many nights. The family has two mothers and children, no land, no job, every day, she and her daughter earn a living by selling lottery tickets. "Having a solid house is something I thought was only a dream. Now, the whole family is no longer afraid of the rainy season, only worrying about buying and selling to stabilize their lives. I would like to thank the local leaders and sponsors," Mrs. Le Thi Tu confided.
“No one is left behind”
Recently, through the connection of Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank has sponsored 3 billion VND to build 50 "Great Solidarity" houses for poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties in Mo Cay Nam district.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of 50 houses sponsored by Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank in Mo Cay Nam district, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat said that Ben Tre province has actively and effectively implemented the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide according to the Government's policy. This is a program rich in humanity, deeply demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, comradeship and compatriotism.
In Mo Cay Nam district, 290 eligible households have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee to build new or repair houses. Through the process of mobilization and coordination, the locality has called for nearly 12 billion VND, of which the state budget accounts for 4.1 billion VND, people's resources 1.5 billion VND, the rest is contributions from organizations and enterprises. To date, the construction and repair work has basically been completed, striving to complete the entire project before June 20, 2025. This is the result of the high determination of the Party Committee, government and people of Mo Cay Nam district, along with the cooperation and sharing of organizations, units and sponsors, including the valuable contribution of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank.
Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dang Thi Phuong said: The completed houses have contributed to creating conditions for poor households to have stable housing, thereby feeling secure in working and rising out of poverty. In particular, the program has demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the community in caring for the poor, leaving no one behind.
“I call on organizations, individuals and businesses inside and outside the province to continue to accompany, share resources, and contribute with the Party, the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister . I request that the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels be responsible for receiving and allocating funds in a public, transparent, and appropriate manner, contributing to ensuring effectiveness and trust in the community.” (Assoc.
