Accordingly, implementing the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in Ben Tre province in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor mobilized funds to build 2 Trade Union Shelters, 4 Great Solidarity houses and 1 charity house for union members and households in difficult circumstances in Giong Trom district. The construction costs were drawn from the Social Fund of the Provincial Federation of Labor, along with support from the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) Ben Tre Branch and Ben Tre Lottery Company Limited. The houses have an area of 38 - 70m2 , with construction value ranging from 80 to 129.9 million VND.
Of which, 2 Union Shelter houses were awarded to the following households: Tran Van Nghia, born in 1969, a union member of Au Viet Furniture Import-Export Production Trading Company Limited, residing in Thap Tu Hamlet, Thuan Dien Commune and Le Thi Hoang Huong, born in 1971, a union member of Ben Tre Seafood Joint Stock Company - Long Thuan Hamlet, Son Phu Commune. The Union Shelter Fund supported each house with 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by the families.
4 Great Solidarity houses were awarded to the following households: Ha Thi Thuy; Mr. Huynh Van Luyen's household (Son Phu commune); Mr. Tran Van Tuan's household and Mr. Nguyen Van Tam's household (Phuoc Long commune). In which, Agribank Ben Tre Branch supported each house with 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by the families.
1 charity house was given to Mr. Nguyen Van Trung's family in Phuoc Long commune. Of which, Ben Tre Lottery Company Limited supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family.
Speaking at the house handover ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Phuc Linh affirmed that implementing the program of joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a meaningful social activity, deeply demonstrating the attention and care of the Party, State, socio- political organizations and Trade Union organizations for the lives of union members, workers and households with difficult housing circumstances.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor acknowledged and commended the efforts of all levels of trade unions, the cooperation and contributions of businesses and benefactors who have accompanied the program. At the same time, he congratulated the families for having a new, spacious and cozy house. Hopefully, this will be a solid foundation for the family to continue to strive, work well in production, raise their children to adulthood, and contribute to the development of their homeland.
At the ceremony, the Provincial Federation of Labor, Giong Trom District, sponsors and localities presented many meaningful gifts to 7 households. The People's Committees of the communes with households receiving houses presented certificates of gratitude to the sponsors.
