Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Branch in Khanh Hoa expected to operate by the end of 2026

On May 17, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee announced that at the working session between provincial leaders including Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics , the two sides agreed to start construction of the branch in Khanh Hoa on August 19, 2025.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, Chairman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, reported on the progress of implementing the cooperation agreement for the period 2023-2028 and presented the upcoming development plan.

Accordingly, the school will continue to coordinate with provincial authorities to implement many important programs such as: human resource development; in-depth training on policy planning for leaders; training on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

At the same time, the school is completing legal procedures to establish the National Research Center for Ocean Technology and speeding up the progress of the investment project to build a training facility in Nha Trang City.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has proposed a number of important recommendations to speed up the project's progress, including borrowing a location as a temporary representative office and proposing to invest in the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center project in Nha Trang City.

In response to these proposals, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, assigned relevant departments and branches to review and resolve the recommendations and allow the unit to implement the Project of Training Center, Career Guidance, Innovative Startup for Youth.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan said that the Provincial People's Committee has decided to allow the opening of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Branch in Khanh Hoa and agreed to start construction on August 19 at the Bac Hon Ong School, Training and Vocational Training Area (Nha Trang City) and consider this one of the key projects to welcome the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

In addition, the provincial leaders also requested the provincial education sector to conduct an overall assessment of the content, training program and facilities of Khanh Hoa College of Economics so that Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics can study the possibility of receiving them. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics branch in Khanh Hoa is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.

As previously reported by Thanh Nien , the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has also approved the location for the construction of a branch of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in Khanh Hoa. The land area of ​​about 4.3 hectares will be reserved for this project, located in the Bac Hon Ong School, Training and Vocational Training Area, Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City.

Khanh Hoa Province and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) will cooperate to build a branch in the locality. The two sides will conduct scientific research and technology transfer in many fields serving socio-economic development such as: marine technology, logistics, nuclear engineering, construction, information technology, artificial intelligence, environment, high-tech agriculture, clean and renewable energy, new materials, oil and gas, geology and aviation engineering...
