Phan Son mobilizes resources to build new rural areas

In recent years, Phan Son commune (Lam Dong) has mobilized many resources, synchronously implemented socio-economic development programs, gradually improved infrastructure and improved people's lives. Based on the achievements, the locality is determined to strive to meet new rural standards by 2030.

Focused investment, improving rural infrastructure

The allocation and use of investment capital in Phan Son in recent times has been implemented synchronously, for the right purpose and brought about clear results. By taking advantage of resources from three national target programs - building new rural areas, developing the economy - society in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and sustainable poverty reduction - the commune has invested in many urgent projects such as expanding the domestic water system, building village community houses, supporting production capital, changing jobs, installing solar energy lighting, completing irrigation canals and other civil works.

Infrastructure in Phan Son commune is increasingly improved.

Total investment capital for basic construction in the 2021-2025 period reached 27 billion VND; capital from the ethnic minority and mountainous development program was 2 billion VND; along with 752 million VND from the sustainable poverty reduction program, creating momentum for infrastructure development.

Many projects such as roads to production areas, drainage ditches, concreting residential roads, children's playgrounds, village cultural houses, wireless broadcasting systems, etc. have been implemented, contributing to promoting trade and developing the local economy.

The information and communication work of the commune continues to be focused on, especially the radio system to ensure the timely broadcasting of the Party's policies and the State's laws to the people.

The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is increasingly more substantial, associated with the criteria of the new rural program, contributing to building cultural villages and cultural families.

People apply science and technology to production more and more popularly.

Along with infrastructure development, the commune pays attention to preserving the tangible and intangible cultural values ​​of the K'ho and Rac Lay people. Po On Temple and other religious sites have been restored; gong and art troupes actively participate in cultural, artistic, sports and legal competitions.

The commune also mobilized resources to invest in a smart broadcasting system, upgrade children's playgrounds, purchase traditional costumes, gongs, trumpets, and promote the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

The investment and upgrading of National Highway 28B will create conditions for Phan Son commune to develop further in the coming time.

The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have promoted their role in mobilizing and contributing to various types of annual funds, meeting and exceeding targets.

Capital support programs, technical training, animal husbandry, and production have been promoted, helping to increase income and improve people's lives. Legal propaganda work has been widely deployed, creating consensus in the movement "Joining hands to build new rural areas".

In the first 9 months of 2025, the total cultivated area of ​​the commune reached 2,822.5 hectares/3,619 hectares, equal to 78% of the plan; including 2,177 hectares of annual crops, 375 hectares of short-term industrial crops and 645 hectares of long-term crops.

Determined to reach the new rural finish line by 2030

Health care for people in Phan Son commune has many changes.

Phan Son's health sector has many positive changes. The commune health station has been newly built, with additional equipment, improving the quality of initial medical examination and treatment. In the first 9 months of 2025, the health station received 2,064 visits, reaching 52.92% of the plan.

Disease prevention, especially dengue fever, was implemented vigorously; 4 cases in the area were promptly treated. Food safety and hygiene were focused on with 25 facilities in operation; management of private medical and pharmaceutical practices was maintained with 4 drugstores.

Besides the achieved results, Phan Son still faces many difficulties: slow economic development, limited conversion of crop structure, uneven application of science and technology in production; small-scale production, low value of goods; a part of the people still rely on State policies.

Some cultural and social fields have not met requirements; school facilities are still lacking; mobilizing people to participate in health insurance is difficult; people's quality of life and cultural and sports movements have not had any breakthroughs.

People of Phan Son commune have boldly introduced new varieties into production, helping to improve people's economic life day by day.

With the goal of completing the remaining criteria, Phan Son continues to implement the Resolution of the 10th Central Committee on "Agriculture - Farmers - Rural Areas"; associated with national target programs and reorganizing production by household groups and cooperatives. This is considered a key solution to increase income, reduce poverty sustainably and create motivation for the commune to reach the new rural destination by 2030.

Up to now, Phan Son commune has achieved 8/19 criteria, including criteria on: Planning; Traffic; Electricity; Cultural facilities; Information and communication; Residential housing; Labor and criteria on Education and training.
