Cong Phuong's reaction when he returned to the Vietnam national team

His debut on October 19, 2024 in the match against Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club was a memorable one, when Cong Phuong scored the only goal to help his team win. Notably, coach Kim Sang-sik personally went down to the field to shake hands and encourage Cong Phuong after the match.

"Coach Kim not only watched but also came down to the field to congratulate, which made me really feel the sincerity and support from the coaching staff. This is a source of encouragement not only for me but also for the players who are trying hard in the First Division," Cong Phuong shared.

The former HAGL player is leading the list of top scorers with 7 goals, equal to his teammate Tu Nhan, Cong Phuong proves that he still retains his scoring instinct. Returning to the national team in the context of great expectations from fans and the media, he frankly admits that pressure is inevitable, but also indispensable for a professional player.

"I don't promise anything too big. I just focus on each training session, each match. If I get to play, I will play with everything I have for the fans, for the flag," Cong Phuong affirmed.
