In round 28 of Ligue 1, PSG suffered a 0-2 home defeat against Rennes. This defeat ended PSG's 35-match unbeaten streak at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 (since the defeat against Lille in April 2021).

It is worth mentioning that in this match, PSG fans planned to "attack" Messi because they thought that this player received a high salary but did not contribute much to the team. Right from the moment Messi's name was announced at the beginning of the match, the Parisian fans kept booing and cursing.
Despite trying to play under the tremendous pressure from the stands, El Pulga still could not help PSG avoid defeat. After the match, the extremists continued to "throw" harsh words at Messi.
In response, the Argentine superstar trudged into the tunnel without staying behind with his teammates to thank the fans. After the match, coach Christophe Galtier had to speak up to defend his student from a wave of criticism.
He said: "My players did their best. Try to put yourself in the shoes of the PSG players and myself right now. We took to the field with eight players out due to injuries. I even had to promote youth team players. Those are names that fans have only seen once or twice in training sessions with the first team.

No one can criticize PSG players for lacking determination. That is completely wrong. I hope the fans understand that after being two goals down, I did not have many alternatives. The players' performance was also affected.
I have read rumors that Messi deliberately left the training session because he was frustrated with the coach's exercises. Such stories are completely untrue. Messi could not complete the session because he felt uncomfortable with his adductor muscles and had to leave early."
However, this defeat does not affect PSG's top position too much. Currently, they are still leading with 66 points after 28 matches, 7 points more than the second-ranked team, Marseille.
