On the morning of April 8, at Cot Co-Bai Sau Park, the Provincial People's Committee held a launching ceremony for the urban beautification movement throughout the province.

Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; representatives of departments, branches and nearly 500 youth union members and armed forces.

The ceremony was broadcast online to the connecting points of districts, towns and cities.

Identifying urban beautification as an important task, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people and attracting tourists , Ba Ria-Vung Tau has focused on mobilizing all resources to carry out urban beautification. The urban appearance of the province has changed a lot, people's awareness of building a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle has been increasingly enhanced, contributing to promoting the image of the province to domestic and foreign tourists.

Speaking at the launch of the movement, Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested departments, branches, localities and all people to effectively carry out urban beautification tasks in 2023. Each city and town shall build at least 2 wards to become model units for urban beautification. Each district shall build at least 1 town to become a model unit for urban beautification, thereby expanding to the entire province.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, representatives of departments and branches along with nearly 500 youth union members started cleaning up the environment of Bai Sau beach and Nghinh Phong slope, and propagandizing to people and tourists not to litter and put trash in the trash.

Localities, agencies and units across the province have also simultaneously implemented many practical urban beautification activities such as removing billboards posted on electric poles and house walls; cleaning up trash, clearing bushes in residential areas; planting ornamental flowers, etc.

This activity is considered the starting point to focus on implementing a general environmental cleaning, urban decoration and beautification campaign, aiming to build a modern civilized urban area and develop tourism among all people.
