More than 11,000 bottles of fake honey were discovered.

On January 8, the leader of the Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province said that the unit is completing the dossier and evidence of violations to transfer to the police agency to investigate the act of producing and trading fake food products such as honey at 4 honey trading companies, of which 3 companies are headquartered in Vinh Phuc province and 1 company is located in Bac Ninh province.

Previously, implementing the Peak Plan on strengthening market inspection and control, combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2023 and before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024, the Department of Market Management of Vinh Phuc province coordinated with functional forces to conduct inspections of honey products of 4 enterprises including: Hoa Binh Ong Company Limited; Viet Ong Company Limited; Viet Nhat Ong Company Limited in Vinh Phuc province and Tuan Phuong MTV Production, Trade and Service Company Limited in Bac Ninh province, which are producing and trading honey.

During the inspection process, the Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province coordinated with relevant units to take honey samples from honey trading companies in the area to test the quality.

The test results showed that the honey products of the above 4 enterprises do not have the same quality as the natural origin and name of the goods as prescribed.

The authorities then seized 11,099 bottles of honey that were suspected to be counterfeit. The total value of the goods was nearly 300 million VND.
