Detecting illegal mining and trading of construction sand in large quantities

The large amount of sand of illegal origin was seized from Hoang Phuc Construction Company Limited, with Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang as Director, located in Vo Ninh Commune, Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province.

In the initial inspection and investigation, the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, Quang Binh Provincial Police determined that Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang's company was a member contributing capital with another facility to exploit sand under a license granted by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, valid until June 12, 2023, at Bai Nai, Truong Xuan commune, Quang Ninh district.

Although the license had expired, from July 2023 until the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, Quang Binh Provincial Police discovered (September 27), Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang continued to hire people to go to the mine area to exploit and transport to the Company's collection site, with a total volume of up to 2,000 m3 of sand. Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang's company sold nearly 1,500 m3, the remaining unsold amount was 569 m3.

The Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment, Quang Binh Provincial Police, has drawn up a record of administrative violations against Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, Director of Hoang Phuc Construction Company Limited, and temporarily detained 569 m3 of construction sand for further verification and handling according to the provisions of law.

Recently, the inspection and handling of illegal mineral exploitation in Quang Binh province has been focused on and promoted by the authorities. Many cases of illegal mineral exploitation have been detected and handled promptly.
