Promoting cultural identity associated with tourism development in Lai Chau

The event of Independence Day and Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 with many activities imbued with the identity of the ethnic groups in the area, promises to attract a large number of people and tourists to explore and experience.

Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan 2822/KH-UBND on organizing Independence Day and Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week in 2024 in Than Uyen district with many activities to welcome tourists on the occasion of National Day September 2.

This is an event to promote the annual Independence Day celebration tradition of the people of Than Uyen district in particular and the people of all ethnic groups in Lai Chau province in general, thereby promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude",educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride.

At the same time, the event contributes significantly to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and ethnic people in preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with tourism development in Lai Chau.

Accordingly, the Independence Day and Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 will take place from August 31 to September 3 in Than Uyen district with a series of diverse activities, bringing new experiences to people and tourists.

The highlight is the Opening Ceremony with the theme “Returning to the majestic Lai Chau peaks” which will take place at 8pm on August 31st at Than Uyen District Stadium. The Closing Ceremony will take place at 4pm on September 2nd.

The activities contribute to strengthening links and cooperation in tourism development between localities, creating opportunities for travel businesses to learn, expand markets, build new tours, and introduce domestic and foreign tourists to the image, nature and people of Lai Chau.

Within the framework of the event, there will be many activities : cultural and artistic exchanges and performances; KOMOMO Than Uyen 2024 international race; traditional culinary contest of ethnic groups in Than Uyen district, street festival program; off-road motorbike racing, kayak racing, paragliding performance, ethnic sports competition, exhibition and introduction of tea and ginseng products, cultural space of ethnic groups in Lai Chau province, exhibition of beautiful photos of Lai Chau tourism, exhibition of books, newspapers, geographical documents and calligraphy art and display space, introduction of OCOP products and some typical agricultural products of Lai Chau...
