Attending the congress were Ms. Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders and former leaders of Lao Cai province; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; and 375 outstanding delegates, representing more than 1.7 million ethnic people of Lao Cai province - typical examples of intelligence, bravery, faith and solidarity of the entire people.
The Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lao Cai province took place in the context of the locality, along with the whole country, undergoing a special transformation - rearranging administrative units at the provincial and communal levels; organizing a two-level local government apparatus; perfecting the system of the Fatherland Front, socio- political organizations, and mass associations.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province, emphasized: The Congress is of special importance. This is an opportunity to objectively and comprehensively evaluate the results of the Front's work in the past term; point out limitations and lessons learned; and at the same time determine directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress discussed and resolved on important contents to continue innovating the content and methods of operation of the Front; consolidating the great national unity bloc; promoting democracy, enhancing social consensus; improving the quality of supervision and social criticism; building a contingent of Front cadres with courage, enthusiasm, responsibility, close to the people, understanding the people, and for the people.
Highly appreciating the outstanding results of the Fatherland Front at all levels in Lao Cai province in the past term, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga stated: Although the time between the two terms is only more than a year, the work of social security and caring for people's lives in the province has achieved impressive results, clearly demonstrating the sense of responsibility and strength of solidarity. The movement "Lao Cai joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" has mobilized more than 349 billion VND; the work of supporting people affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi, 2024) and storms No. 10 and 11 continues to be strongly implemented, with a total support value of up to over 1,200 billion VND, contributing to helping people quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives.
In particular, in the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the whole province has built and repaired 12,915 houses, with a total resource of more than 1,400 billion VND, completing the plan ahead of schedule - demonstrating the solidarity of the entire Party in caring for and helping people in difficulty. In addition, the fields of social supervision and criticism, people's foreign affairs activities, and digital transformation in the work of the Fatherland Front are also bright spots, standing out compared to the whole country.
Entering a new development stage - a stage of deep integration and comprehensive digital transformation, Ms. Ha Thi Nga suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province promote its core political role, bringing together all classes, religions and ethnic groups in a unified bloc to create social consensus, together towards the development goal of Lao Cai province "green - harmony - identity - happiness"; firmly adhere to the motto "Taking people as the root", continue to promote democracy, regularly listen to and grasp people's aspirations, care for their lives, firmly consolidate people's trust in the Party and the government; continue to improve the quality of social supervision and criticism with the spirit of "clear work - clear responsibility - clear effectiveness"; continue to innovate emulation movements and major campaigns in a practical and widespread direction...
Receiving the direction of the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung suggested: The Congress should continue to study and strongly innovate the content and methods of operation in a flexible, practical and effective direction; implement the coordination mechanism of "one task - one focal point - one deadline - one result" clearly and transparently; thoroughly overcome the administrative situation in the activities of the Front. The Front must truly become a "common home", a trusted address for people to confide their thoughts and aspirations, share difficulties, and propose solutions; a place to connect, gather, promote the intelligence, creativity and solidarity of all social classes, towards the goal of "what is most difficult to say, people can say to the Front".
At the Congress, delegates focused their intelligence and raised their responsibility to continue discussing and giving opinions to perfect the Congress documents and propose new solutions and ideas on all programs and areas of operation of the Front.
The Congress approved three breakthrough contents for the coming term, including: Strongly innovating the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and mass organizations; mobilizing, guiding and supporting union members, association members and people of all walks of life to start businesses, innovate and create; organizing the "Month of listening to people speak" activity, and annually organizing dialogues with union members, association members and people. The Congress agreed on six Action Programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lao Cai province for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress elected the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term I, 2025-2030, consisting of 114 members; the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term I, consisting of 8 members. Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, holds the position of Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. The Congress elected a delegation to attend the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026-2031, consisting of 16 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. Ha Thi Nga presented 10 billion VND to the Lao Cai Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee to support the locality in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
