At the conference, the Department of Science and Technology handed over a total of 50 trademarks, including 7 certification trademarks and 43 collective trademarks, to units and localities. The parties are responsible for taking over the trademark management and carrying out procedures to record changes in the owners of protection certificates in accordance with the provisions of the law on intellectual property.

According to Lao Cai Newspaper, the list of products handed over this time includes many famous specialties of the Northwest region such as Yen Binh - Yen Bai red-fleshed dragon fruit, Sa Pa flowers, Bat Xat ginseng vermicelli, Bao Yen taro, Bao Ha seedless persimmon, Van Ban native black pig, Muong Khuong sausage, Bao Thang hybrid carp, Si Ma Cai red peanuts, Tram Tau chili bamboo shoots, Nghia Do - Bao Yen duck and Lao Mu - Khanh Thien sticky rice. These are all products with high economic and cultural value, with great potential in market development and local brand promotion.
The transfer of certification marks and collective marks to localities is considered an important step to promote the proactive role of local authorities and production organizations in managing, exploiting, protecting and promoting the marks. Thereby, helping to increase product value, expand consumer markets and promote regional economic development in a sustainable manner.
According to the assignment, the receiving units and localities will be responsible for taking over all records, documents, protection certificates, and the system of regulations on trademark use. At the same time, proactively coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to carry out related legal procedures, ensuring the management, exploitation and development of trademarks in accordance with regulations, effectively and in line with the development orientation of the locality.
The Department of Science and Technology of Lao Cai province also commits to accompany localities in providing guidance, technical support, expertise and professionalism in the management, exploitation and protection of trademarks. In addition, the Department will regularly inspect and monitor the implementation and advise the Provincial People's Committee on developing support mechanisms and policies to maximize the effectiveness of certification marks and collective marks, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of local products in the domestic and international markets.
