Survey, learn, cooperate: The foundation for Thai Nguyen to develop quickly and sustainably

In development management, field surveys and experience exchanges between localities are regular and necessary activities to ensure the scientific and practical basis for policy making and effective model implementation.

Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong and Provincial People's Committee Chairman Pham Hoang Son discussed the tourism development orientation of Thai Nguyen during a survey trip to Lao Cai province.

It is impossible to just sit in a meeting room to issue policies. In reality, good models such as: Developing community tourism, digital transformation in urban management or exploiting industrial park infrastructure... are all formed from learning and adjusting experiences from other places.

The working trip of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Delegation to Lao Cai is part of a series of activities linking the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, on socio -economic development cooperation between localities with similar conditions.

Thai Nguyen Newspaper , Radio and Television reported that during three working days, the working delegations of Thai Nguyen and Lao Cai provinces discussed many important contents on planning, flood prevention and economic development in combination with the exploitation of major river basins through the construction of flood-prevention dyke systems (Red River, Cau River...), tourism development, traffic infrastructure, high-tech agriculture and administrative reform.

The two localities agreed to strengthen cooperation in developing key areas, especially in investment promotion, trade and digital transformation, and at the same time build a mechanism for regular information exchange between relevant departments and branches. These results are not only meaningful for Thai Nguyen, but also help expand regional development links, exploiting more effectively the advantages of geographical location, infrastructure and human resources.

Field surveys are a mandatory activity in the process of policy development and implementation. Just like a business needs to survey the market before investing, local leaders need to conduct field surveys to make the right decisions, avoiding waste in public investment. During the trip, the delegation agreed on specific cooperation directions, creating a foundation for new steps in the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province in the coming time.

On the internet, comments like “going to school is a waste of public money” or “all talk and no action” often stem from a lack of understanding of public service procedures or the purpose of causing suspicion and reducing trust in the Party and government organizations. Surveying, learning, and exchanging experiences are things that localities, ministries, and sectors still regularly do, because no development can be sustainable if it only relies on old experiences.

Such comments, though small, can easily lead readers to misunderstand the nature of the activities of Party and State agencies, unintentionally creating a mentality of suspicion and lack of trust. What is needed here is transparency, openness and effectiveness after the trip, not to deny the role of learning, exchanging and connecting.

It is not a "formal" trip, but a trip to act, a trip to develop, for the long-term benefit of the people and locality.
