Promoting the role of veterans in building new rural areas

Joining hands with the locality to build an advanced and exemplary new rural area, the Association of War Veterans in Lap Thach district has actively promoted and mobilized exemplary cadres and members to take the lead in implementing criteria on income, housing, and environment; mobilized people to renovate their houses, donate money and working days to build welfare works, build roads in villages and hamlets, etc.

The officers and members of the Veterans Association have promoted their exemplary role, raised awareness and responsibility in propagating and mobilizing people to participate in preserving and protecting the environment, classifying waste at source...

The Association of War Veterans in communes and towns is always at the forefront in contributing money, labor, and land to build traffic works and welfare projects.

Implementing criterion number 10 on income in building advanced new rural areas, the Association of War Veterans in Lap Thach district has promoted the emulation movement "War Veterans help each other develop the economy ".

Coordinate with relevant departments to open training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques... Received nearly 100 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank to lend capital to members to develop production and business to escape poverty and improve their lives.

Encouraged and supported with seeds, loans... and the spirit of daring to think and dare to do, many families of War Veterans Association members have boldly invested in facilities, transformed the structure of crops and livestock in the right direction, suitable to local conditions and strengths.

Typical examples include the movement of growing dragon fruit on Van Truc, Xuan Hoa, Ngoc My, Quang Son; the pig and dairy cow farming model of war veteran members in Quang Son, Ngoc My, Bac Binh, Thai Hoa communes; war veteran members in Trieu De and Van Quan communes developing rattan and bamboo weaving and foam mattress processing villages... Thanks to that, the life and income of war veteran members in Lap Thach district are increasingly improved.

Responding to the movement of joining hands to build new rural areas, advanced and exemplary new rural areas, members of the Veterans Association of Lap Thach district donated 99,650 m2 of land, contributed 18,600 working days, and participated in the construction of 14km of wastewater drainage system...

The Standing Committee of the District War Veterans Association regularly inspects, urges, and draws experience from the implementation of the task of building advanced new rural areas in the three communes of Xuan Hoa, Bac Binh, Xuan Loi and the three villages of Van Quan commune.

Currently, the District Veterans Association maintains and manages 70 km of rural roads, including many bright, green, clean, beautiful, civilized routes and sections, and many model roads...

Joining hands to build advanced and exemplary new rural areas, the Association of War Veterans at all levels actively coordinates with sectors and organizations to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of cadres and members about the meaning and purpose of the Program to build advanced and exemplary new rural areas; at the same time, propose specific, appropriate and close-to-the-real-life action programs in localities.

To make the program effective, the Provincial Association of War Veterans launched the emulation movement "Vinh Phuc War Veterans join hands to build advanced new rural areas" associated with the movement "Exemplary War Veterans".

With active participation, the Veterans Association at all levels has promoted its pioneering and exemplary role, contributing with localities to complete the criteria in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas.

From the beginning of 2024 to now, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the province has propagated and mobilized members and people to support, contribute, and donate more than 16,000 m2 of land, money and other materials worth more than 1.3 billion VND; dredged 7,500 m of irrigation canals; contributed more than 700 working days to repair and clean cemeteries and nearly 9,000 working days to build 19.4 km of rural roads; dredged more than 5,000 m of sewers, collected more than 500 m3 of waste, cleaned 660 wells, cleared 11.1 km of bushes and planted more than 8,700 trees of all kinds.

With practical and meaningful activities, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province has been actively participating in socio-economic development, improving the lives of members, contributing to completing the criteria in building new rural areas in localities.

In the coming time, the provincial War Veterans Association will continue to promote propaganda and encourage cadres and members to actively participate in the program of building new rural areas; support members in economic development, mobilize resources among cadres, members and people to participate in implementing criteria in building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, and promote the role of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime.
