In new rural development, production criteria play an important role, promoting socio -economy in localities, creating the foundation for completing targets on income and poverty rate.
Thanks to the guaranteed output of their products, members of the Hoang Dat CNC Agricultural Service Cooperative, Hoang Dat commune (Hoang Hoa) can focus on production with peace of mind.
To increase income and reduce the poverty rate for local people, the Ha Long commune government (Ha Trung) has implemented production organization criteria well. In particular, it actively mobilizes people to change crop structure, apply scientific and technological advances in production, develop commodity-oriented production models, and link with product consumption. Up to now, the commune has a series of intensive fruit growing areas such as: pink-fleshed grapefruit, pear guava, commercial pineapple, red-fleshed dragon fruit...
From a household that only lived on traditional crops such as corn, potatoes, and cassava, Ms. Nguyen Hong Van's family in Dai Son village, Ha Long commune now has a stable life thanks to growing and linking pineapple production with businesses. With an area of more than 1.5 hectares of pineapple, her family has signed a contract to consume the product with Tu Thanh Company Limited and Dong Xanh Agricultural Products Import-Export Joint Stock Company (both in Thanh Hoa City). According to Ms. Van, "Linking production and product consumption with businesses has helped my family and other pineapple growers no longer worry when the market price drops and it is difficult to sell during the main crop. Regardless of high or low prices, we are no longer under pressure about consumption, but instead still have a relatively good source of income, bringing a stable life."
Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Long Commune (Ha Trung), said: “In the new rural development, innovation in production organization is extremely necessary. Small-scale production models after conversion, application of technology and chain linkage have helped people escape from precarious life and stabilize income. At the same time, specialized production areas have been formed, thereby creating typical products of the commune. Currently, Ha Long has a pineapple production area of 650ha and guava growing area of 150ha, of which 70ha of guava has been recognized as meeting OCOP standards. In 2023, the average income per capita of the commune will reach 62 million VND/year; the poverty rate will decrease to 2.5%. Promoting the implementation of criterion No. 13 is considered a "door" to help farmers access new ways of thinking and doing, thereby helping to improve their lives in all aspects".
The pineapple growing linkage model helps Ms. Nguyen Hong Van's family in Dai Son village, Ha Long commune (Ha Trung) have a stable life.
In Hoang Dat commune (Hoang Hoa), not only does it support businesses and cooperatives to link with farmers to produce according to the value chain, but it also encourages units to actively transform digitally to promote agricultural products and OCOP products typical of the locality. Typically, Hoang Dat CNC Agricultural Service Cooperative has proactively linked with businesses to sign contracts to link production and consumption of cantaloupe, cucumber and clean vegetables, tubers and fruits for farmers. At the same time, it provides seeds, agricultural materials, knowledge and methodical planting processes for farmers to implement. Thereby helping farmers increase their income, stabilize their lives, and focus on production. The cooperative's post-harvest products have been supplied to supermarket chains and many clean fruit stores in the province. In addition, the cooperative has also proactively brought products closer to consumers, by applying digital platforms such as: introducing products on social networking sites such as Facebook, Zalo; Sell on the province's e-commerce trading floors such as: thuongmaidientuthanhhoa.vn or nongsanantoanthanhhoa.vn...
Currently, the commune has 15 enterprises, 212 individual business households and 1 CNC agricultural service cooperative. The production activities of enterprises and establishments contribute to creating jobs and increasing income for local workers with an income of 3 - 5 million VND/person/month and an average income per capita of 60 million VND/year.
The implementation of production criteria has helped localities change their thinking from agricultural production to agricultural economy, shifting from individual production to large-scale production, towards commodities, contributing to the success of new rural construction.
