(BLC) - On April 24, the National Committee on Digital Transformation held its 8th meeting to discuss and evaluate the achievements in digital transformation; limitations, barriers, and bottlenecks that need to be removed to complete the set tasks. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation chaired the meeting.

The meeting was held in a combination of direct and online formats from the central bridge to the 63 provinces and cities across the country.

Attending the meeting at the Lai Chau provincial bridge were comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation; members of the Lai Chau Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation; members of the Working Group assisting the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation... From the Lai Chau provincial bridge, the meeting was connected to the bridge of the People's Committees of districts and cities in the province.

In recent times, digital transformation has achieved many important results, including the national population database connecting with 18 ministries, branches, 63 provinces and cities and 4 enterprises; successfully synchronizing over 268 million people's information; receiving more than 1.5 billion information verification requests (an increase of 213 million compared to 2023). The national data integration and sharing platform has connected with 388 systems and databases of 95 agencies and units participating in the connection.

Regarding digital infrastructure development, currently 80.2% of households use fiber optic broadband internet. 100% of communes are connected to fiber optic internet. 4G mobile broadband is covered to 99.8% of the population with stable quality. Regarding the development of digital government to provide online public services to people and businesses, 80.44% of administrative procedures that meet the full process requirements are provided online; 47.79% of administrative procedures that meet the full process requirements are provided online. The ratio of online submissions to the total number of administrative procedure settlements is only about 38.3%.

Regarding digital economic development, the proportion of digital economy/GDP in 2021 and 2022 is 11.91% and 14.26%, respectively. The proportion of digital economy/GDP in 2023 is estimated to reach 16.5% with a growth rate of 20%, 3 times higher than GDP growth...

For Lai Chau province, it has organized, directed, and guided agencies, units, and localities to carry out the tasks and goals set out related to digital transformation activities in the province. Basically completing the construction of Lai Chau province's e-Government towards Digital Government to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the state administrative apparatus and the quality of service to people and businesses. In the province, there are 20 databases of departments, branches, sectors, and localities. Implementing the tasks in Action Plan No. 1543/KH-UBND dated April 27, 2023 of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee on improving the quality and efficiency of providing online public services in the province...

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing the following contents: solutions to promote the application of e-commerce to consume Vietnamese agricultural products; digital transformation in healthcare to increase benefits for people in comprehensive health care and protection; developing digital data in the Education and Training sector; exploiting data to serve the direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee leaders...

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation acknowledged and commended all levels, sectors, localities and enterprises for their active implementation of digital transformation in recent times. The Prime Minister requested that all levels, sectors and localities continue to promote digital transformation; put people and enterprises at the center of national digital transformation; build and perfect the legal corridor on national digital transformation; always maintain discipline, order, and decentralization in the implementation process; closely follow reality, mobilize the participation of people and enterprises; increase resource priority for digital transformation; promote public-private partnership in the digital transformation process; actively innovate and start a business in digital transformation; enhance digital skills and digital citizenship; ensure network information security in the process of digital transformation...
