The last film of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki has no trailer or promotion.

Studio Ghibli has just announced that it will not post any more trailers or images for the film How Do You Live? before the film officially premieres in Japan on July 14. This is one of the most anticipated anime films of Ghibli because it is guaranteed by the name of the studio as well as filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (82 years old this year).

Apart from the most general information about the film's content that the media has exploited, along with the film poster that Ghibli released in December 2022, the company has hardly released any other information or images as the film nears its release date. Director Hayao Miyazaki's "right-hand man" Toshio Suzuki further confirmed "that's exactly it", in an interview last Friday in Bungei Shunji magazine.

Promoting a project before its theatrical release is something Ghibli has always done. But for Hayao Miyazaki's final film, the studio took a different approach. "As part of our company's history, over the years, Ghibli has always invited people to watch our films," said Toshio Suzuki. "We've thought a lot about it and come up with different ways to do it.
