According to the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, the event of receiving 6 red-crowned cranes at Tram Chim National Park marks an important milestone in the effort to restore this rare bird species under the Project "Conservation and development of red-crowned cranes at Tram Chim National Park in the period of 2022 - 2032".
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan hoped that every person living in the buffer zone of Tram Chim National Park would know the value of the red-crowned crane to appreciate it and join with the relevant agencies to protect the red-crowned crane.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan shared that in the past two years, the first cranes from the wild returning to Tram Chim are a sign that the province has created a good living environment for the cranes to return. Now, having more cranes from Thailand - those who are ahead of us in technology and crane care techniques - will resonate, bringing value not only to Tram Chim National Park but also a symbol of the spirit of friendship between Vietnam and Thailand. "The event of receiving the red-crowned cranes is also the beginning for each of us to rethink our actions, to together preserve and restore the ecosystem."

Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong said that the event of receiving and bringing 6 red-crowned cranes to Tram Chim National Park is not only to raise, care for, and preserve them in the direction of natural release, but Dong Thap will also aim for a longer-term, more scientific, and thorough research program on red-crowned cranes: from care, breeding, conservation, release, and even forming a stable and sustainable ecosystem for red-crowned cranes.
On this occasion, the leaders of Dong Thap province sincerely thanked organizations, individuals and units that have accompanied the Project on Conservation and Development of Red-crowned Cranes; committed to providing the most favorable conditions for the successful implementation of the Project.

Previously, on April 10, Dong Thap province received the first 6 red-crowned cranes (about 7 months old, 3 males and 3 females) from Thailand. The red-crowned cranes were raised at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo (Thailand) and transported to Vietnam by air, having completed quarantine according to regulations on wildlife quarantine at Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden (Ho Chi Minh City).
After a period of isolation and care, the 6 red-crowned cranes are all in good and stable health. At noon on April 19, the cranes arrived at Tram Chim National Park to continue raising, caring for, and reproducing.
The cranes were brought in to be raised with the aim of rehabilitating the crane flock and releasing them into their natural habitat at Tram National Park. The reception of the red-crowned cranes this time is not only an important milestone but also conveys a strong message about the community's responsibility for nature conservation, ecosystems and environmental protection.
