On November 25, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and the Government delegation inspected the project of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 through Dong Nai . This is a key traffic route that plays a role in supporting the connection of the Southeast region, reducing the load on existing roads and opening up development space for Dong Nai - Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Linh - Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, reported in detail the progress of each bid package and key items along the entire route. He said that the section through Dong Nai is 11.26 km long, with a total investment of more than VND 2,584 billion, and will be basically completed in 2025 and put into synchronous operation in 2026.
Up to now, the entire project has reached 60.2% of the contract value, many items are ahead of schedule. Of which, package 26, 2.2 km long (from the beginning of the route to the DT.25C intersection), has reached 47% of the contract value. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Ring Road 3 interchange bridge has completed 12/14 spans, completed 12/14 bridge decks and completed the construction of the two last bridge abutments.

At Huong Lo 19 intersection, the contractor has completed the K95 roadbed from Km0+300 to Km0+640 and placed 19/30 girder slabs. The main route of the package has completed the entire K95 and K98 roadbed, while the 3rd layer of crushed stone has reached 1,360 m. The parallel road and the sewer system are also being accelerated, with 4/6 technical sewer locations completed and the K98 embankment reaching 1,200 m.
Package 29, 2.8 km long, from DT.25C to DT.25B, has reached 66% of the contract value and is one of the construction packages with the best progress. At the DT.25C intersection, the bridge section has been basically completed, contractors are focusing on constructing railings, retaining walls and asphalt concrete pavement.
At the DT.25B intersection, the main part of the bridge has been completed, and the bridgehead road and retaining wall are currently being deployed. The frontage road system is also being accelerated, with one side having finished asphalt concrete, and the other side is completing the foundation. Along the entire route, both the main route and parallel roads have completed the drainage, foundation and road surface items, and are now moving to the asphalt paving stage.
Package 32, the construction of the parallel route from DT.25B to Nhon Trach Bridge, has reached 64% of the contract value. The main items such as Ly Tu Trong Bridge, Rach Chay Bridge and the parallel road section have been basically completed, creating conditions for moving to the next construction phase. Currently, the units are focusing on handling the weak ground on the two parallel routes, this is a complex technical item, having a great impact on the overall progress of the package.

During the construction process, the project encountered many significant difficulties. Adverse weather conditions lasted for three peak months, with 15 rainy days in August, 18 rainy days in September, 15 rainy days in October and continued heavy rains in November, directly affecting the progress of road surface construction.
In addition, Dong Nai is simultaneously implementing many large-scale infrastructure projects such as Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Cat Lai Bridge and provincial roads, causing a shortage of construction materials at the mines and affecting the progress of Ring Road 3. In this situation, the Project Management Board proposed that My Thuan Project Management Board coordinate to temporarily maintain the locations of DT.769 - Ly Tu Trong Bridge and 25B overpass to ensure traffic safety during construction.
After listening to the report and inspecting the site, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged the efforts of engineers and workers at the construction site.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: “This is an important project connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai, the old Binh Duong, the old Long An and other localities in the region. When completed, the project will promote investment efficiency, create new development space, exploit land use potential and build a sustainable urban system.”
The Deputy Prime Minister requested units to take advantage of the weather, work overtime, increase shifts, and mobilize equipment to meet the technical traffic opening deadline on December 19, while ensuring construction quality. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, quality is the "brand" of the investor and contractor, helping to minimize maintenance and repairs later.
