On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (1975-2025), on August 21, at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi), the Vietnam Space Center, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, held the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam Space Museum.
Meeting with the staff of the Vietnam Space Center at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung expressed his impression, admiration and pride in the overall efforts of the staff of the Vietnam Space Center and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), and highly appreciated the unique and interesting experiences that the Vietnam Space Museum has created.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that in the context of a volatile and unpredictable world , many countries have stepped up investment in research and application of space technology to enhance capacity and strategic competitive advantage.
In particular, our country is entering a new stage of development. The Party and State have identified science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as key driving forces for rapid and sustainable development, helping the country overcome the middle-income trap and move towards the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung suggested that the Vietnam Space Center should be determined to master strategic technology, enhance the capacity of research, design, integration, testing and operation of "Made in Vietnam" low-earth observation satellites; soon build and develop strategic products, low-earth observation satellites of the Academy until 2045 with a roadmap and specific projects; build the Academy brand to become the leading satellite research and manufacturing facility in Vietnam. In particular, it is necessary to proactively connect the innovation ecosystem, exploit satellite data to form products and services with high added value, serve the development of the digital economy, modern governance and meet the needs of society, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam's satellites.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung noted that the Center needs to promote scientific communication and STEM education. The Vietnam Space Museum, when opened, should become a learning space, inspiring the young generation; a bridge between science and the community, between technology and life.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Government will continue to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for the Academy and the Center to promote their roles and responsibilities; he believes that the Vietnam Space Center will maintain its leading position of the Academy and the country in the field of space technology, specifically in designing and manufacturing "Made in Vietnam" satellites, proactively receiving and successfully implementing assigned tasks, making practical contributions to the cause of science and technology development, innovation and sustainable development of the country.
The Vietnam Space Museum started construction in October 2022, with a total area of over 3,000 m2 including outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces, divided into 5 main areas with unique themes such as an outdoor exhibition area with planetary models in the Solar System and a unique sundial.
Indoor space with experiences of basic science experiments on light, sound, Newton's laws of gravity, as well as learning about planets, stars, galaxies and especially our solar system... In addition, the Vietnam Space Museum also shows the deep connection between Vietnamese culture and history with space through ancient Vietnamese star maps and interactive screens simulating bronze drum faces.
