(Chinhphu.vn) - On the evening of November 13, right after arriving in Hue city to begin a working trip in Hue - Quang Tri, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung visited and presented gifts to families affected by the recent storm and flood.

Accompanying Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung were Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh and representatives of leaders of a number of central agencies and local departments, branches and sectors.

The working delegation visited and presented gifts to two households in Huong Thuy ward - an area heavily affected by the recent storm and flood, including: Mr. Vo Viet Quang's family (whose relatives are martyrs) and Pham Thi Thuy's family (currently has three sisters living together, their parents passed away early).

Proposing that local authorities continue to pay attention and provide timely support, especially to households in difficult circumstances and policy families, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to strengthen forecasting and early warning work, proactively develop and deploy response plans to minimize damage when floods occur in the coming time.

Currently, Hue city is focusing on overcoming the consequences of floods and proactively preventing and responding to heavy rains and landslides expected to occur from November 15 to 20.
