VHO - On September 10, the People's Committee of Da Nang City coordinated with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province to discuss the management, exploitation and promotion of the value of Hai Van Quan relic.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee emphasized: There must be coordination between the two localities to have the best way to manage and exploit Hai Van Quan relic, from the perspective of doing it right away, doing it early, doing it quickly.
The coordination between the two sides is based on the principle of ensuring unity, synchronization, efficiency, and clearly assigning responsibilities to each agency and unit in presiding over, coordinating the management, protection and promotion of the value of Hai Van Quan relic, avoiding formalities and overlaps.
According to the draft coordination regulations, Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue will coordinate in the following areas: Inspection, examination, handling of law violations; management of the site and space of Hai Van Quan relic; establishment of an organization to manage and protect the relic.
Managing relics; preserving, repairing and restoring relics; propagating and promoting; promoting the value of Hai Van Quan relic associated with tourism development; protecting security and order, fire prevention and fighting at the relic; managing traffic order and safety; ensuring hygiene and environment; developing state management regulations, projects, plans, etc.
At the meeting, representatives of the two localities of Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue raised outstanding issues to find solutions to ensure the Hai Van Quan relic site operates effectively, such as maintaining security and order, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, planning parking lots, and unifying ticket prices for visiting the relic site.
After receiving opinions from representatives of relevant departments of the two localities, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi concluded a number of contents on the management plan and promotion of the value of Hai Van Quan relic.
Accordingly, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center (Thua Thien Hue Province) and the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District (Da Nang City) are assigned as two direct management units, rotating every 3 years. In the first phase, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will organize the management and exploitation.
During the rotation phase, an inspection team will be established to monitor the management activities and promote the heritage value of Hai Van Quan.
Based on the opinions of the leaders of the two localities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center are assigned to complete the Draft Plan for coordination in managing and promoting the value of Hai Van Quan relic. Consult and seek opinions from the Standing Committees of the two local Party Committees to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Ticket sales need to be organized early in accordance with current legal regulations to create a basis for management and generate revenue for the relic. The proposed ticket price agreed upon by both parties is from 50,000 - 70,000 VND.
The expected opening date is December 2024.
Regarding the implementation of auxiliary items serving tourism, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu district is assigned to soon implement items such as logistics areas serving tourists such as parking lots, display areas, and areas for buying and selling tourism products.
From August 1 to September 9, 2024, Hai Van Quan relic welcomed 78,306 visitors. This is a significant number after the relic was restored and embellished by Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang City People's Committee together since the end of 2021, with a total cost of more than 42 billion VND from the budgets of the two localities.
Up to now, the restoration of the relic has basically ensured the restoration and renovation of some of the original construction items of the relic such as: "Thien ha de nhat hung quan" gate, Hai Van quan gate, headquarters, wall system...
Inside the headquarters, pictures and information boards about the monument in Vietnamese and English have been completed to serve the needs of visitors to learn about the history of the construction. Since the first day of opening, thousands of people, domestic and foreign tourists have come to this monument to take pictures and admire the majesty of Hai Van Quan.
This is a project containing many cultural and historical values and is also a famous scenic spot of the two localities. The revival of Hai Van Quan brings joy to the people of the two localities of Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue. Because for many years, this relic has always been the most ideal stop on the way from Hue to Da Nang and vice versa.
