Emulation movement to win at Trung Ly Border Guard Station

Major Nguyen Van Thien, Political Commissar of Trung Ly Border Guard Station, said: The unit is assigned to manage and protect 7.7km of border with 4 border markers adjacent to Laos. In Trung Ly commune, there are 15 villages, of which 11 are Mong ethnic villages and 4 are Thai ethnic villages.

Deeply aware of the purpose, meaning and importance of emulation and reward work (TĐKT) and the emulation movement to win, the Party Committee and the unit's command have focused on thoroughly grasping, concretizing and seriously implementing the Law on TĐKT and the guiding documents of the superiors on TĐKT work and the emulation movement to win. Regularly leading and directing the innovation of content, form and measures to organize emulation movements; doing a good job of educating motivation, building determination, determining themes, contents and emulation targets in accordance with the requirements and tasks of the unit. The commendation work is focused on, linking regular rewards with extraordinary rewards, emulation movement rewards with annual rewards for party organizations and mass organizations, creating a spreading force and encouraging emulation movements throughout the unit. In particular, pay attention to discovering, nurturing, and replicating advanced models, focusing on groups and individuals directly performing combat readiness tasks, fighting against crime, preventing natural disasters, searching and rescuing... teams and work stations in difficult and arduous places.

Identifying the emulation movement to win as an important driving force for the unit to excellently complete all assigned tasks, the unit has coordinated with agencies, units and functional forces to strictly maintain patrolling, controlling and managing and protecting the border. Doing a good job of coordination and cooperation, ensuring security and safety for working delegations from the Central, provincial and district levels. Effectively implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister "On organizing the movement of the entire people to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation"; Directive No. 681-CT/DU dated October 8, 2018 of the Standing Committee of the Border Guard Party Committee on assigning Border Guard Party members to be in charge of households in border areas; Project "Strengthening security assurance on the western border of Thanh Hoa province, period 2021-2025" and implementing the conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee and the plan of the Provincial Border Guard Command on building a model "Bright border village" in Ta Com village...

Accordingly, in 2024 and the first 3 months of 2025, Trung Ly Border Guard coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize 51 concentrated propaganda sessions with 3,706 listeners; 6 mobile propaganda sessions, propaganda on the commune and village loudspeaker system for 180 hours. Proactively implementing the task of protecting the border, border markers and border diplomacy, in which coordinating with Border Guard Company 215 (Laos) to organize bilateral patrols 5 times with 120 participants from both sides; unilateral border protection patrols 11 times with 77 officers and soldiers participating.

At the same time, the unit effectively implemented Directive No. 681-CT/DU dated October 8, 2018 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee on assigning Border Guard Party members to be in charge of households in border areas. In the past year, the unit supported 1,020 geese and ducks; 5 pigs for 19 households with a total purchase price of 26 million VND. Continued to sponsor 5 students with especially difficult circumstances during the school year, 500,000 VND/student per month, including 1 student from Laos. Funding was awarded to support the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school" for 18 students with difficult circumstances in the area and adopted 1 child at the unit. In coordination with the Women's Union of Muong Lat district, the Women's Union of Trung Ly commune, the Community Learning Center of Trung Ly commune organized 2 literacy classes for 68 women and people in Pa Bua and Ta Com villages. In coordination with organizations and individuals to build and repair the kindergarten in Kham 2 village with a total value of over 500 million VND... In addition, on the occasion of holidays, New Year, and the National Border Guard Day, the unit connected with organizations and individuals to visit and give gifts to policy families, local officials, prestigious people, border marker guards, and Border Guard Company 215 (in Laos) with a total gift value of over 1 billion VND.

In order to ensure the life of officers and soldiers in accordance with the regime and standards, ensuring food safety and hygiene, the work of increasing production is paid attention to and regularly. In 2024, the total revenue from growing vegetables, tubers and fruits of all kinds will reach 2.4 tons, equivalent to 42.5 million VND, maintaining a herd of 10-12 pigs, a flock of 120 chickens, and a total import of 1.68 tons of various types of meat to the unit's kitchen, equivalent to 230 million VND, contributing to improving the lives of soldiers.

With many outstanding results in performing tasks, over the years, Trung Ly Border Guard has always been awarded the emulation title "Determined to Win Unit" and many certificates of merit. This is the result of the efforts and solidarity of officers and soldiers who are always determined to excellently complete assigned tasks, contributing to building a strong unit, firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders.
