Waste and wastewater treatment in Phu Quoc is very difficult and requires careful calculation.
Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Van Da - Can Tho University - said that the project demonstrates a clear and long-term strategic vision on setting goals for developing high-quality, sustainable, international-standard ecotourism , Net Zero, preserving culture and craft villages.
Mr. Da said that because Phu Quoc Island has limited space, the locality needs to calculate the pressure on infrastructure, the capacity to accommodate tourists, and the waste treatment system. The problem of waste treatment in Phu Quoc is not easy, and needs to be calculated and clarified.
Localities need to consider the quality of tourism services and the marine environment. Tourists are now concerned about the impact on the environment.
Mr. Pham Duc Huy - Deputy General Director of Sungroup Southern Region - informed that to develop sustainable tourism in Phu Quoc, the most important thing is infrastructure and speeding up the upgrading and expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport, because this is an important bottleneck to bring visitors to Phu Quoc.
"The locality should have a communication program I Love Phu Quoc and need to take advantage of AI technology to shorten time, train foreign languages for officials, and local tourism human resources to better serve tourists. After successfully organizing APEC 2027, the locality needs a scenario to continue developing Mice tourism (conference and seminar tourism)," said Mr. Huy.
