Teachers practice STEM in the program.

Participating in the program, Ms. Trinh Thi Hai Yen, Biology teacher at Song Lo Secondary School, said that this was a useful activity because of its usefulness, practicality, and connection to teaching reality. After the program, Ms. Yen hopes to join the STEM education community to implement lectures during the teaching process at school.

Mr. Pham Duc Chien, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Viet Tri city, assessed: The training program helps managers and teachers deeply understand the nature of STEM education and the role of STEM education in innovating teaching forms and methods towards developing students' qualities and abilities; helps teachers grasp the process of scientific research and technical design for STEM products, linking learning with practice, theory with practice, contributing to the effective implementation of scientific and technical research competitions and youth and children's creativity competitions.

In addition, through practical content, the program also provides teachers with skills to organize STEM educational activities, professional exchanges, develop teacher capacity, and meet the requirements of educational innovation.

This activity is part of the STEM Education Project program selected by UNICEF Vietnam to implement for vulnerable children, organized by the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training and the STEM Alliance.

In Phu Tho, the training program is divided into 5 topics in Phu Ninh, Viet Tri city and Phu Tho town. The training content for principals, vice principals and heads of professional groups is the STEM topic for managers of secondary schools. Teachers are trained in 4 topics related to mathematics, natural sciences, and information technology processes; engineering design processes; robotics and smart machines, artificial intelligence; and scientific research.

Mr. Do Hoang Son, representative of the STEM Alliance, said: Phu Tho still maintains its community culture. This is a very good condition for implementing STEM education. Teachers can be confident in their resources and socio-cultural foundation to implement STEM education at low cost, easily and happily. In addition, with the "teacher" of the internet, digital transformation helps to implement learning and self-study very easily, continuously updating experiences and good models in the world.
