In the early morning of June 1 (Vietnam time), Paris Saint-Germain ended their journey in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season with an eye-catching match when they defeated Inter Milan with a score of 5-0 in the final match held at the Allianz Arena (Germany). This is the first Champions League title in the history of the French capital team.
With the desire to conquer the continental summit for the first time, PSG entered the match proactively and full of enthusiasm. In the 12th minute, the Ligue 1 representative opened the scoring after a move on the left wing by young talent Desire Doue. The player born in 2005 dribbled skillfully before crossing for Achraf Hakimi to tap the ball into the net of his former team, putting PSG ahead 1-0.
With high spirits, PSG continued to dominate the game and made Inter's defense falter many times. In the 20th minute, from a quick counter-attack, Ousmane Dembélé assisted Doue to finish, the ball hit Federico Dimarco's foot and changed direction, leaving goalkeeper Sommer completely helpless.
This goal not only helped PSG double the gap, but also made Doue the youngest player in history to score and assist in a Champions League final (19 years and 362 days).
The more PSG played, the more they showed their superiority. The flexibility of the attacking trio Doue – Kvaratskhelia – Dembélé and the solid midfield of Neves – Ruiz – Vitinha made it impossible for Inter to deploy the game as desired. The first half ended with a 2-0 advantage for the French team.
In the second half, PSG took the initiative to slow down the game, waiting for Inter to make a mistake before launching decisive attacks. In the 63rd minute, Vitinha initiated an attack from home and then assisted Doue to complete a double, raising the score to 3-0. Just 10 minutes later, the duo Dembélé - Kvaratskhelia coordinated well in an attack on the left wing, before Kvaratskhelia finished to score the fourth goal for PSG.
The 4-0 scoreline was all but certain of the title, but the French team were not done yet. In the 86th minute, young substitute Mayulu took advantage of a mistake by Inter's defense to score the winning goal in a convincing 5-0 victory.
This victory not only helped PSG step onto the Champions League podium for the first time in history, but also clearly demonstrated the team's remarkable maturity after many years of investment and waiting. With the brilliant performance of young players, especially Doue, PSG is opening a new promising era on the European football map.
