Grilled snakehead fish restaurant in Can Tho earns hundreds of millions on God of Wealth day

Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy An, owner of a snakehead fish shop on Tran Van Hoai Street, Xuan Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, said that the number of customers ordering online accounts for over 70%. By predicting the purchasing power in advance, Ms. An proactively accepted online orders early to avoid the situation of customers jostling and rushing to buy.

Only 30% of customers come to the store to buy, the rest order online.

"From the 8th day of Tet, we started accepting orders for grilled snakehead fish for God of Wealth Day via online sales channels. Initially, the restaurant planned to deliver to homes, but due to the large number of customers ordering, we did not dare to accept. Instead, if customers have a need, they can place an order and then order a shipper to pick it up themselves," said Ms. An.

To prepare the quantity of grilled snakehead fish, Ms. An's restaurant mobilized 16 employees to stay up all night to prepare fish, process fish, grill fish, prepare vegetables and dipping sauce...

"Everyone worked at full capacity, without stopping from 10pm the night before until around 12pm on February 19 (after the worship time) to deliver the goods to customers in time," said Ms. An.

Each grilled snakehead fish costs 190,000 - 220,000 VND

According to Ms. An, just on the morning of God of Wealth Day, her restaurant sold about 500 grilled snakehead fish, priced from 190,000 - 220,000 VND/fish, depending on weight, with revenue of about 100 million VND.

Up to 70% of customers order online

Holding a bag of grilled snakehead fish in his hand, Mr. Nguyen Lam (30 years old, living in Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) happily said: "Every year, on the day of the God of Wealth, I prepare an offering tray, and I cannot miss grilled snakehead fish. This is an important occasion for business people like me to pray for a smooth new year and prosperous business."
