During the search, at 2:00 p.m. on April 2, the rescue force of the Vietnam People's Army in coordination with the rescue forces of Myanmar and Türkiye successfully rescued the young man trapped inside the hotel.
The rescued man was Htet Maung Maung, 26 years old, a chef at the Aye Chan Thar Hotel. His health was quite good because he had been given IV fluids by rescuers.
Mr. U Myint Lin, the victim's father, said: "On the day the earthquake happened, Htet Maung Maung went to work at the Aye Chan Thar Hotel in the capital Naypyidaw... The family has not received any news about their son for nearly a week, and it was only this morning that they were informed that he is still alive."
After being rescued, Htet Maung Maung was put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
