Duong Kinh District organizes the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children and the opening ceremony of summer activities in 2025

Attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of city departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Duong Kinh district; representatives of departments, branches and unions of the district and wards, along with many teenagers and children in the area.

Comrade Nguyen Tri Nhan, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of Duong Kinh District People's Committee emphasized: In recent years, the work of protecting, caring for andeducating children has always been directed and effectively implemented by the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee. The rate of children in special circumstances in the area has decreased to about 0.5%; 100% of children at risk of falling into special circumstances have been detected, managed and promptly supported. In 2024, hundreds of children were supported with medical examination, treatment and gifts on holidays and Tet with a total cost of nearly 1.3 billion VND. Propaganda and mobilization work to raise public awareness of child protection has also been regularly and extensively implemented, contributing to creating a safe and healthy living environment for children to develop comprehensively. However, the situation of child abuse, injuries, especially drowning, still occurs; some localities implement summer activities in a formal manner and are not really effective. The implementation of children's participation rights in some places has not received due attention.

In 2025, the Action Month for Children was launched with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete children's goals"; summer activities took place with the theme "Healthy, safe - Learn thousands of good things". The People's Committee of Duong Kinh district requested all levels, sectors and localities to focus on implementing a number of key tasks, emphasizing the promotion of propaganda and education to raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society for the work of protecting, caring for and educating children. At the same time, organize meetings and dialogues between children and local leaders, collect children's opinions and recommendations in policy making. The work of caring for children in special circumstances, children from poor households, families with preferential policies, children affected by violence and abuse is also focused on through visiting and gift-giving activities. The district encourages the implementation of child support models such as building and repairing “Red Scarf Houses”, upgrading playgrounds, developing digital libraries and reading spaces in the community. In addition, safe and healthy cultural, sports and entertainment activities are enhanced during the summer, along with teaching life skills, self-protection skills, especially accident and drowning prevention for children.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the District People's Committee also expressed their hopes that the children will always remember and practice the five teachings of Uncle Ho, constantly study, practice, and develop comprehensively in terms of physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects, worthy of being the future generation of the city and the country.
