In particular, always be on duty in areas prone to flooding, ready to help people when necessary.

Da Nang on 100% military duty from this afternoon

Colonel Nghia also requested the Da Nang Military Command to send forces to coordinate with the government and units to evacuate people to safe places; ensuring absolute safety before, during and after the storm.

Previously, the Military Region 5 Command sent a telegram to units requesting them to strictly maintain 24/7 on-duty status; fully stock up on military supplies and fuel, and be ready to deploy forces when ordered.

At noon on October 22, the Da Nang City Military Command announced that it had ordered all forces to be on duty from 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (October 22) to 5:00 p.m. on October 30; ready to mobilize to rescue and support people in emergency situations.

Local militia in Hoa Khanh ward went down to the residential area on Me Suot street to help people evacuate and move furniture to higher ground.

The Da Nang Standing Militia Squadron was also ordered to coordinate with Naval Region 3 to anchor ships in a safe area. The 699th Armored Battalion had its forces and vehicles ready to move when ordered.

The city's border guards called on ships to urgently take shelter and implement sea bans depending on the storm's developments to ensure safety.

Quang Ngai prepares armored vehicles and canoes to rescue people

Meanwhile, on the morning of October 22, during a direct inspection in Quang Ngai, Major General Luu Xuan Phuong - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 - requested units to be on standby, ready with vehicles and human resources to respond to storm Than Gio.

At the Reconnaissance - Mechanized Company 1 and the Quang Ngai Military Command, Major General Luu Xuan Phuong highly appreciated the proactive and positive spirit of the units in disaster prevention, control, search and rescue work.

Leaders of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command said they have established shock troops with more than 100 officers and soldiers along with canoes, armored vehicles, life buoys... ready to respond to the storm.

Units also develop scenarios and prepare plans to rescue people when situations arise.
