Dawn had just crept over the hill when Thanh and her husband were busy preparing for a new working day. As always, after checking the herd of cows and leading them to the pasture, she would start the remaining tasks such as: cleaning the house, barn, feeding the goats, going to the coffee plantation... During the early days of choosing to start a business in the mountainous area of Huong Phung, the couple faced many difficulties. At that time, Thanh was fortunate to have timely access to credit loans, through the dedicated guidance of the staff of the Social Policy Bank (SPB) of Huong Hoa. “I started borrowing capital in 2022, a loan program for households producing and doing business in difficult areas with a total amount of 50 million VND. Next, my husband and I borrowed an additional 100 million VND from the loan program to support job creation, maintenance and expansion. This amount of money was like a “lifebuoy”, helping my husband and I have enough conditions to invest in building a cow farm and renovating coffee plantations. Thanks to that, we have what we have today,” Ms. Thanh confided.

Thanks to the effective use of loan capital, up to now, Thanh and her husband have built a semi-grazing farm with 20 breeding cows, along with goats and deer for antlers. To ensure the amount of food for the animals, Thanh also planted about 5,000m2 of grass.
In addition, the couple planted 2 hectares of Arabica coffee and Robusta coffee, which have now been harvested. From this comprehensive economic model, the couple has an average annual income of over 250 million VND.
Ms. Thanh said: “I am very grateful for the attention of the Party and the State, and the active support of credit officers in the area. From difficulties, my family life is now more stable, and my children also have a solid foundation to develop and grow up.”
Following the staff of the People’s Credit Fund of Le Thuy, we visited the breeding cow model of Mrs. Loi’s family. At that time, although they were busy feeding the cows, when they saw us, the couple immediately stopped and happily welcomed us.
“In 2007, I started borrowing credit from the job creation program of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies. At that time, 20 million VND was a big amount, helping my husband and I build a “business” with 2 mother cows and 2 calves,” Ms. Loi said. Over time, the amount of capital disbursed increased, proportional to the number of cows in the barn.
At the peak, the couple raised nearly 15 animals. With money from selling cows, Mrs. Loi invested in raising 130 egg-laying and meat chickens, and 100 pairs of pigeons. In addition to raising livestock, the couple maintained 3 hectares of rice fields. Thanks to their hard work, on average, the couple earned more than 100 million VND each year. Coming from hardship, now Mrs. Loi and her husband have a prosperous and happy life, built a solid house, and raised their children to become good people.

Head of the Credit Planning Team of the Le Thuy Social Policy Bank, Nguyen Nhat Tan, said that in the areas managed by the unit, there are currently 3,628 borrowing households, with a total outstanding debt of over 262 billion VND, managed by the Women's Union.
“Mrs. Loi’s family is one of the households that uses loans most effectively. Thanks to that, not only does it create jobs and a stable source of income to develop the family economy, she also becomes an example for other households borrowing loans in the area to learn from. In the coming time, the Le Thuy Social Policy Bank will continue to accompany Mrs. Loi and all people in need, contributing to the development of the local socio-economy,” said Mr. Tan.
