After 10 years of implementation, the defense staff work of Military Region 5 has had many clear changes, contributing to maintaining strategic initiative, avoiding passivity and surprise in all situations. The Party Committee and Command of Military Region 5 have directed the development of an action program, organizing the thorough dissemination of Resolution No. 347 in conjunction with the Central Resolutions on the strategy of defending the Fatherland in the new situation.
Agencies and units in the entire Military Region 5 have closely coordinated with local authorities, grasped the situation, forecasted reality, and promptly advised on effective handling of national defense and security issues, especially in key areas such as borders, islands, and the Central Highlands.

Military Region 5 also promotes the application of science and technology in staff work, gradually perfecting the military data transmission system, e-government, and improving command and combat operations capacity in the digital age. Training and planning of strategic staff are focused on, ensuring that they meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
At the conference, delegates discussed and evaluated outstanding results, pointed out limitations, causes and lessons learned; at the same time proposed directions, tasks and solutions to improve the quality of research, forecasting and national defense advisory work in the coming time.
Concluding the conference, Major General Le Ngoc Hai requested Party committees and commanders at all levels in the Military Region's armed forces to continue to innovate their thinking, closely combine theoretical research and practical summaries; promote the role of staff agencies at all levels in building a national defense posture, firmly protecting the strategic areas of the Central Highlands - Central region from early on and from afar.
