According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low pressure area in the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is at level 7, gusting to level 9. The tropical depression is forecast to move in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 20km/hour, with the possibility of strengthening into a storm and entering the East Sea on November 26. The storm will then move west, affecting the mainland of the South Central region. The storm's center is expected to affect from Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa, from November 28 to 30.
In the face of the above situation, the Military Region 5 Command held an urgent meeting to deploy storm prevention and control work. Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 chaired the meeting. Along with that, the Military Region issued a telegram requesting agencies and units to regularly and closely monitor weather developments, tropical depressions and floods; proactively mobilize forces and means to be ready to respond and participate in search and rescue.
Military Commands of provinces and cities directed the Border Guard to coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to ensure the safety of officers, soldiers and vehicles on duty at sea; at the same time, promptly notify vehicle owners and captains to clearly understand the location and direction of the tropical depression (storm) to proactively prevent and ensure the safety of people and property.
Colonel Phan Dai Nghia requested agencies and units to regularly monitor the area, check vulnerable points, landslides, floods, and isolation areas; pay special attention to areas recently damaged by floods; strictly maintain combat readiness regimes; closely coordinate with localities and do a good job of ensuring logistics and techniques.

Colonel Phan Dai Nghia emphasized: “We request that agencies and units stop all unnecessary work to focus all their efforts on responding to storm No. 15. In particular, we need to do all preparations well and be proactive in the face of widespread heavy rains, causing floods caused by post-storm torrents. Learning from the experience of the recent flood prevention campaign, we will be proactive and deploy measures to help people more effectively.”
At the same time, the Military Region 5 Command also established three working groups to direct the localities of Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa to respond to storm No. 15.
