Speaking at the conference, comrade Dinh Thanh Thuy affirmed that in recent times, the City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art has carried out many theoretical research activities and summarized practical experiences, actively contributing to the cause of "building and developing the city's literature and art in the new period". The Standing Committee of the Council and its members have promoted their role in participating in building and contributing ideas to many projects and art programs; important holidays of the nation and the city; documents of Party congresses at all levels; at the same time, orienting relevant departments, branches and sectors to organize many art programs to honor talents who have made many contributions to the country's literature and art in general and the city in particular.
In addition, the Council has coordinated with the city's press agencies to publish many articles reflecting information, comments, assessments, and evaluations on literature and art on the pages, columns, and programs of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City People's Voice Radio, Ho Chi Minh City Television, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Magazine, etc. Thereby, contributing to propagating and promoting the good cultural values of the nation; implementing the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress on the development of culture and art; at the same time, resolutely criticizing deviant works and refuting the wrong views of hostile forces in the field of literature and art.
This training conference has two main topics: “Literary and artistic creation towards building people in Ho Chi Minh City in the new period” presented by Dr. Trinh Dang Khoa, Chairman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture. “Managing culture and art in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of the current 4.0 industrial revolution” presented by Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quoc Thang, former Principal of Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts, Member of the City Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art.
This training conference not only provides knowledge and practical experience for the team working in culture, literature and arts, but also affirms the role of culture as a spiritual foundation and endogenous driving force for the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City.
