With the desire to bring children a safe, interesting and useful summer vacation, the Provincial Social Work Center has promoted the care, nurturing and support of children; at the same time, implemented many meaningful and practical programs and activities, creating the best conditions for children to live, study, play and develop comprehensively.
Currently, the provincial Social Work Center cares for and nurtures 9 children who are under social protection. All of them have special circumstances, some were abandoned by their parents and were accepted by the center right after birth, and some were brought in when their families were unable to care for them. Although each child has a different situation and story, when they come here, all of them receive dedicated care and attention and grow up in the love of the center's staff, which partly compensates for the trauma and deprivation they have suffered.
Since the end of May, when the children were preparing to enter the summer vacation, the center has developed and issued a care and support plan, created a schedule of daily activities for each week, focusing on organizing experiential activities, self-study, play and entertainment so that the children can have a useful and interesting summer. Every morning when they wake up, the children will gather in the yard to exercise, and at the same time clean their rooms, hallways and the center's campus. Every morning and afternoon, the center's staff will accompany and guide the children to review their knowledge.
In addition, depending on each age group, the center's staff will organize fun activities in the classroom, training life skills for children such as independence, self-care, connection and communication skills with friends, teamwork, environmental care and protection skills, sharing, respecting and helping those around them... At the same time, equipping children with knowledge and skills to defend themselves, protect themselves, prevent and combat injuries, drowning, abuse, violence...
At the end of each afternoon, children participate in traditional games such as blindfolded goat catching, dragon snake up to the clouds, mandarin squares or play sports such as football, badminton, etc. to help improve their health and physical strength. In the evening, children live and play in their rooms, watch TV or organize cultural exchanges, dance, and sing. Children's learning, playing, and entertainment activities are accompanied and supported by the center's staff, creating the best conditions for children to develop their abilities and strengths and to be able to apply the skills and knowledge they have learned to real life.
Comrade Luong Cam Vinh, Director of the Provincial Social Work Center, said: Every day, the children will be examined and checked by medical staff . The center always encourages and motivates the children to actively participate in physical activities, sports, and occupational therapy appropriate to their health and age. At the same time, the center regularly contacts and closely coordinates with the school and homeroom teachers to grasp the children's learning situation; urges and guides them to study and do homework.
Being brought to the center since birth, for Nguyen Binh An, the Provincial Social Work Center is like his own home. Nguyen Binh An shared: For more than 10 years living here, I have always been taken care of attentively by the aunts and uncles, who have given me dedicated guidance from eating, studying to playing. On holidays and Tet, we are guided to wrap Chung cakes, make Troi cakes, Chay cakes, make Mid-Autumn lanterns, and are visited and given gifts by the generous aunts and uncles, which makes us feel very happy.
To create a safe, healthy and friendly environment for children, the Provincial Social Work Center has advised authorities at all levels, departments and branches to increase investment in facilities and accommodation, and mobilize social resources to purchase additional equipment for children's activities, entertainment, and regular maintenance to ensure that equipment is used and operated well. Children's rooms are fully equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, desks, decorative pictures, books and toys. The center's campus is spacious, with many flowers and trees, creating a cool, clean and beautiful landscape.
In addition, to ensure nutrition for children's development, the center regularly changes the menu every week to ensure quantity, nutrition according to regulations and food diversity, strictly implementing regulations on food safety and hygiene from the stage of importing raw materials to the stages of processing and organizing meals for children.
Practically responding to the Month of Action for Children, at this time, the Provincial Social Work Center has been coordinating and receiving resources from businesses, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to visit, exchange, and give gifts to children; regularly organizing cultural, artistic, physical education, sports, and sweet festivals with children; prioritizing resources, creating the best conditions for children to develop comprehensively both physically and mentally...
