In recent days, public opinion has been stirred up when authorities across the country have discovered many cases and criminally prosecuted dozens of subjects according to legal regulations related to the production and trade of fake pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and functional foods.
A typical example is the case of Kera vegetable candy using celebrities and public influencers to advertise "excessively", spreading it on social networks and digital platforms to make illegal profits.
This behavior not only greatly affects consumer confidence but also directly impacts the production and business situation of legitimate businesses.
Deploying a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the province, with special attention to fighting and preventing counterfeit drugs, cosmetics, functional foods, and medical equipment, the Department of Health has issued many directive documents, such as: Proposing to review health protection food products that have had their Certificate of Registration of Declaration revoked by the Department of Food Safety - Ministry of Health ; recommending that people should not use two suspected fake health protection food products: An ngon Baby Shark product and Medi Kid Calcium K2 product manufactured by Drapharco Trading and Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Medi Uspharma Pharmaceutical Company Limited...
In addition, the Department of Health Inspectorate has developed a plan to conduct an actual assessment of 13 pharmaceutical businesses and cosmetic manufacturing establishments in the province from May 12 to 16. By the end of May 20, the Department's Inspection Team had conducted a surprise inspection of compliance with legal regulations on the pharmaceutical sector such as GPP, product origin... for a number of pharmaceutical businesses in the province. Through the inspection, the Team discovered and imposed administrative penalties totaling nearly 140 million VND.

Faced with the situation of counterfeit pharmaceuticals and cosmetics being sold widely in the market, causing confusion for consumers, the provincial Market Management Department has directed its affiliated Market Management Teams to resolutely implement the work of managing the area, inspecting and supervising circulation and distribution activities at retail channels, drug agents, warehouses, factories, and pharmaceutical and cosmetic production facilities.
Since the beginning of May 2025, the Market Management Teams have coordinated with the specialized departments of the Provincial Police to continuously detect, temporarily detain goods and handle administrative violations in many cases of trading in counterfeit cosmetics and smuggled cosmetics.
A typical case is the case of Nguyen Anh Minh business household in Lai Son residential group, Dong ward (Vinh Yen) at the time of inspection was selling more than 700 bottles of shampoo and 22 deodorants manufactured abroad.
Of which, there are 300 bottles of TRESemmé brand shampoo, 370ml and 450ml, without legal invoices and documents, which are counterfeit trademarks protected in Vietnam; more than 400 bottles of Sunsilk, Pantene, Clear, Dove brand shampoo, 370 - 410ml, and Scion Brightening brand deodorants, 75ml, without invoices and documents proving their origin, which are smuggled goods.
After temporarily detaining the above goods and completing the case file, the Head of the Provincial Market Management Department signed and issued a Decision to impose an administrative fine of VND 46 million on business household Nguyen Anh Minh and applied the measure of forcing the destruction of all infringing goods worth VND 47 million to remedy the consequences.

Therefore, the Team continues to coordinate with functional forces to focus on inspections on key contents and areas such as invoices and documents proving origin; products on the list of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics allowed to circulate on the market licensed by the Ministry of Health...
Promote propaganda, guidance, and request organizations, individuals, and establishments to sign a commitment to comply with business laws within their management areas. Thereby, contributing to raising people's awareness of complying with legal regulations on pharmaceutical and cosmetic business.
In order to create an open, transparent and safe pharmaceutical and cosmetic business environment, member units of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 continue to promote inspection, control and root-finding to prevent, handle and recommend prosecution of violations according to the provisions of law.
People's Committees of districts and cities actively coordinate with functional forces in inspecting, controlling, and strictly handling acts of trading and trading in fake, smuggled, and unknown origin drugs and cosmetics.
Require pharmaceutical and cosmetic production and trading establishments in the province to comply with the provisions of law and competent authorities regarding production and trading activities; strictly prohibit advertising and introducing products with uses that have not been scientifically proven and approved by competent authorities, and falsely advertise the uses of products...
Most importantly, people need to develop the habit of buying medicine and cosmetics at reputable pharmacies, medical facilities, and businesses licensed by authorities to avoid "losing money and getting sick".
