The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism and departments, branches and sectors of the province, Lac Duong district government, especially with the participation of representatives of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.

The Pinus krempfii is a rare and endemic plant species that only grows on the Langbiang plateau. The world's leading botanists consider them "messengers from prehistoric times".
French botanist Chevalier claimed that this is the only surviving species of the ancient genus. American scientists such as Krisphind and Litenle consider the flat pine a "living fossil" of the Tertiary period, whose relatives are known only from fossil specimens.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ton Thien An - Deputy Director of Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park, expressed his joy and great honor when the population of flat-leaf pine trees that are protected, preserved and growing very well in the Park was recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree.

He shared: “For the staff and officials of Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park, the Flat-leafed Pine is not only a masterpiece of creation but also a priceless treasure that nature has bestowed upon this land. For the local ethnic people, this tree has a profound spiritual meaning, closely associated with the cultural life of the community.
In recent years, Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park has paid special attention to the protection, care and development of this pine species. The park has submitted a proposal and is honored to be recognized by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree.

The recognized population of Flat-leafed Pine consists of 108 trees, ranging in age from 700 to 1,000 years, with a height of 35 to 40 meters. This is considered the largest population of Flat-leafed Pine in Vietnam and the world to date.
Not only a symbol of longevity, this tree is also a living testament to the value of the primary forest ecosystem and efforts to sustainably conserve nature in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai - Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment said: The title of Vietnam Heritage Tree not only honors the value of rare ancient trees but also has practical significance in raising public awareness of environmental protection, preserving rare genetic resources, promoting the development of ecotourism associated with nature conservation.

Immediately after the ceremony to receive the title of Vietnam Heritage Tree, Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park also launched a tree planting campaign, adding to the populations of Flat-leafed Pine, Three-leafed Pine and Five-leafed Pine.

30 flat-leaf pine trees and 500 five-leaf and three-leaf pine trees propagated by the Garden were planted by delegates, officials, workers and local people in areas along National Highway 27C and scattered areas in the National Park.
