The Megalive program is the result of cooperation between the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La with Vietnam Post Corporation and Son La Provincial Post Office with the goal of promoting trade promotion activities and applying e-commerce.
According to the plan, the units will organize the Megalive program to promote plum and mango products. At the same time, they will coordinate to organize Son La agricultural product booths on the walking streets in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, focusing on introducing and promoting the consumption of two key products: plum and mango.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: The e-commerce platform nongsan.buudien.vn is a specialized and reputable platform for promoting and introducing OCOP products nationwide. With a system of 63 provincial post offices, 17 central post offices and a wide network of more than 2,600 transaction points covering the commune level. This is an opportunity for Son La agricultural products, especially plums, to deeply access the market.
Yen Chau district currently has over 3,000 hectares of plums, mainly concentrated in Phieng Khoai and Long Phieng communes, with an expected output of about 30,000 tons of fresh fruit in the 2025 crop year. Mr. Lo The Thi, Vice Chairman of Yen Chau District People's Committee, shared: The coordination of organizing the Megalive session of plum products right in Phieng Khoai will eliminate geographical and time distances, bringing consumers across the country to "visit" the fruit-laden plum gardens through the screen, witness the professional harvesting process and especially feel the dedication of the farmers.
The highlight that creates the most unique and special attraction for the Megalive session is the presence of "sellers" who are Yen Chau plum farmers. With simplicity and sincerity, the livestream participants confidently accompanied, proactively, and skillfully led the livestream with experts from nongsan.buudien.vn. By sharing the secrets of caring for plums to achieve their characteristic sweetness, maintain a natural layer of powder, and share everyday stories, they bring a unique color and complete trust to the program.
Ms. Le Thi Huong Mo, in Thanh Yen 1 village, Phieng Khoai commune, excitedly said: Being able to directly introduce the plums that I have grown myself to many people via phone and computer, I feel very confident and happy. Thanks to Megalive, our plums are known, trusted and ordered right from the garden by many people. This is the motivation for us to continue to stick with plum trees even more.
To ensure that Yen Chau plums reach consumers in good quality, Son La Provincial Post Office plays an important role in the transportation process. Ms. Pham Thi Thuy, Deputy Director of the Provincial Post Office Business Center, said: The Post Office is both a bridge to bring safe agricultural products from producers to consumers and directly transports them. The unit has proactively signed contracts with partners, organized professional purchasing, packaging and transportation. In particular, plums are prioritized for transportation by specialized refrigerated trucks to maintain their freshness and ensure the quality as if they were just picked from the garden.
According to information from the Provincial Post Office Business Center, during the 4 hours of the Megalive session at the Phieng Khoai Plum Picking Festival, there were more than 32,000 people accessing, 11,000 views and at the peak time, 4,400 people watching live at the same time. There were 1,800 comments, 3,200 likes and 540 shares; the system received many orders and hundreds of tons of Yen Chau plums were delivered to customers.
The successful launch of the Yen Chau plum Megalive session is a testament to the power of digital technology in modernizing the promotion and consumption of agricultural products. The model opens up the potential of agricultural product consumption channels, creating strong inspiration, motivating Yen Chau farmers as well as the entire Son La province to boldly innovate, apply technology to production and business, contributing to bringing agricultural products to large markets, increasing value and building sustainable brands.
