Quang Nam affirms its capacity to deploy Chu Lai Airport under the PPP form.

Chairman of Quang Nam province, Mr. Le Van Dung, has just signed a document to the Ministry of Construction on the content of advising the Prime Minister to assign competent agencies to implement investment in Chu Lai Airport under the PPP method.

Previously, in March 2025, Quang Nam province proposed that the Prime Minister assign competent authorities to carry out investment procedures for the Chu Lai Airport Project.

Then Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Ministry of Construction to coordinate with Quang Nam province to report to the Prime Minister to assign it as the competent authority to implement the investment in Chu Lai Airport Project.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, recently the province has completed a number of transport projects under the PPP method.

Specifically, the Km0+317 Bridge project on the northern approach road to Cua Dai Bridge, with a total investment of 391 billion VND, completed in 2018; the DT.615 Traffic Road Upgrade project with a total investment of 109 billion VND, completed in 2012.

In addition, Quang Nam province has also deployed and completed a number of large-scale traffic projects in the form of public investment such as Cua Dai Bridge and access roads, and completion of Vo Chi Cong road...

Cua Dai Bridge connects the coastal route of Quang Nam province.

Therefore, Quang Nam province finds that it has sufficient capacity to perform the tasks of a competent state agency to implement the investment of Chu Lai Airport Project under the PPP form.

Quang Nam province requests the Ministry of Construction to consider and report to the Prime Minister to resolve the proposal to assign Quang Nam province as the competent authority to develop a pre-feasibility study report and submit it to the competent authority to decide on the investment policy of Chu Lai Airport project in accordance with the provisions of law on investment under the public-private partnership method.

The Chu Lai Airport project has been approved by the Prime Minister for investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) and assigned the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to promptly and proactively implement documents and procedures to call for, attract investment, and exploit Chu Lai Airport.

Quang Nam province has coordinated with the Ministry of Construction and relevant agencies and units to speed up the preparation, appraisal and approval of the Chu Lai Airport Construction Plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

In addition, Quang Nam province also has central ministries and branches measure, set up landmarks, and demarcate boundaries to submit to competent authorities to hand over the land area for socio-economic development to Quang Nam province.

Quang Nam province has also conducted research and accelerated the preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Study Report so that it can be submitted for appraisal and approval immediately after the Construction Plan is approved...
