Quang Ngai opens class to teach South Central folk songs and Bai Choi

PTQ - On June 12, the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts opened the 2025 South Central Coast Folk Song and Bài Chòi Teaching Class with the participation of representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, artisans and students from localities in the province.

The class took place from June 12 to June 26, 2025, taught by Meritorious Artist Tran Tam. More than 30 music teachers teaching at primary and secondary schools in Quang Ngai city, Duc Pho town, Binh Son, Ly Son, Son Tinh, Tu Nghia, Nghia Hanh and Mo Duc districts participated in the class.

During the 15 days, students learned and practiced typical folk songs of the South Central region and the art of Bài Chòi, an intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO since 2017. The teaching class not only contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​but also aims to bring folk art into schools, especially in primary and secondary schools in the province.

This is an activity within the Project to Preserve and Promote the Art of Bài Chòi in the period 2023 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 of Quang Ngai province.
