Specifically, the Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority received information from Mr. Hoang Phu Xuyen, Captain of the Hai Nam 39 ship (Hai Nam Limited Liability Company), on the journey from Vinh Tan port to Son Duong port (Ha Tinh) to deliver goods. When the ship passed through the waters of Gia Lai province, at the coordinates: 14028'08'N, 109019'29''E, a person was rescued from the sea (at 8:45 am on November 8). The person rescued was Mr. Phan Duy Quang (47 years old), residing in Tay An Vinh village (Ly Son Special Zone). The location where Mr. Quang was discovered was about 60 nautical miles from Ly Son island. This is 1 of 3 people who were drifting from the sea when storm 13 hit.
After bringing the victim onto the ship, Mr. Quang was in a slightly weak state of health but mentally stable. Afterwards, Mr. Quang received first aid and initial care from the crew.
The ship is expected to take Mr. Quang to Son Duong port ( Ha Tinh province) on November 9. The search for the remaining two victims drifting at sea is still underway.
Previously, on the afternoon of November 6, Mr. DQC (44 years old) in Tay An Vinh village, for family reasons, went to Ly Son wharf and jumped into the sea. Afterwards, Mr. LVS (37 years old) in Tay An Hai village and Mr. PDQ (47 years old) in Tay An Vinh village used a basket boat to rescue the person who jumped off the bridge. After rescuing Mr. DQC, due to big waves, all three could not row the basket boat to shore. Immediately after the incident, the authorities mobilized Thanh Tam ship (VT0035) to search. At nearly 6:00 p.m., due to big waves and strong winds, the search had to be temporarily suspended. On November 7, the Ministry of National Defense dispatched a helicopter from Division 372 in Da Nang to join the search for the three people missing at sea on the afternoon of November 6.
