Thousands of cubic meters of soil collapsed in Quang Ngai after a loud explosion

At 10am on November 8, on the way to Tu Tho Community Tourism Village, Mang Ri Commune (Quang Ngai), a loud explosion caused thousands of cubic metres of rock and soil from the hill to slide down onto the road. Fortunately, the incident happened far from residential areas so everyone was safe.

Talking to VNA reporters, Mr. Pham Xuan Quang, Chairman of Mang Ri Commune People's Committee said: Recently, there has been a lot of rain in the area, and the circulation after storm No. 13 continued to rain heavily. The land was soaked with enough water, then suddenly it exploded.

The explosion caused a hill about 100 meters long and 200 meters wide to collapse. Thousands of cubic meters of soil spilled onto the road, cutting off Tu Tho Dong Tourist Village. Fortunately, when the explosion occurred, no people were passing through the landslide site. For now, the commune has put up warning signs, guiding people to travel in another direction along the Dak Song inter-village road to move. Move the Dak Song inter-village road to Tu Tho village about 1.5 km.

Recently, the Prime Minister decided to continue to support Quang Ngai province with 20 billion VND to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 13. The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province prioritizes this funding source to support people's livelihood (people, housing) and agricultural and aquatic production, and to repair essential construction projects such as education, health care, etc.

Speaking to VNA reporters at noon on November 8, Mr. Do Tam Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, said: In order to continue to overcome the damage to people's lives, infrastructure, traffic, irrigation, and landslides on mountains, river banks, and coastlines to ensure stability and safety for people, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Prime Minister consider continuing to support Quang Ngai province with nearly 2,000 billion VND to support reconstruction after natural disasters caused by rain, floods, and landslides from October 25 to November 2, 2025.

In addition, for traffic and irrigation projects, overcoming landslides and coastal erosion caused by storm No. 13, the province proposed the Government support more than 300 billion VND to ensure stability and safety for people.
