Quang Ninh earns more than 10,000 trillion VND thanks to international visitors

On March 25, information from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province said that from the beginning of the year until now, the total number of visitors to Quang Ninh is estimated at over 5.3 million, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2023, reaching 105% of the 2024 growth scenario.

Of which, international visitors are estimated at 616,000, up 310% over the same period in 2023. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over VND 10,200 billion, up 10% over the same period in 2023.

Chinese tourists have flocked to Quang Ninh since the beginning of the year.

Thanh Nien reports that the number of international visitors to Quang Ninh has increased again, mainly cruise tourists. These visitors then visit Ha Long Bay, overwhelming domestic visitors.

International tourists to Quang Ninh overwhelmingly outnumber domestic tourists.

Yesterday, March 24 alone, there were 3 cruise ships bringing 4,000 tourists to visit Ha Long. These ships are Seabourn Odyssey, Bahamas nationality; Mein Schiff 5, Malta nationality and Azamara Onward, Malta nationality.

Most of the tourists on the ships participate in shore activities and go sightseeing in Ha Long Bay.

Chinese tourists at Mong Cai International Border Gate

According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, from the beginning of 2024 until now, Ha Long Bay has welcomed 611,139 visitors. Of which, 81,632 are domestic visitors, 529,507 are foreign visitors. The number of visitors staying on the bay is 144,949, of which the majority are international visitors, with more than 135,000 visitors from countries such as Korea, India, Europe, America... Total revenue from ticket sales to visit the bay since the beginning of the year has reached over 196.4 billion VND.

In addition, Mong Cai International Border Gate has also welcomed a large number of Chinese tourists since the beginning of the year. On average, there are nearly 10,000 visitors per day. The increase in Chinese tourists has also caused Mong Cai International Border Gate to be constantly congested during rush hours.
