(Vietnamnet) - The brilliant performances of Bich Tuyen, Le Thanh Thuy, Kieu Trinh... helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeat Kazakhstan 3-0, successfully defending the AVC Challenge Cup championship.
Kazakhstan is the highest-ranked team in the world rankings at the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 (ranked 31st), while the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is ranked 38th.
In the group stage, the two teams faced each other and the victory belonged to the Vietnamese girls with a score of 3-1. Therefore, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are very confident to continue to defeat Kazakhstan to defend the championship.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team took the field with the following lineup: Le Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Kieu Trinh, Lam Oanh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Tu Linh and Khanh Dang. Thus, Lam Oanh returned after injury, while main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy still cannot compete in this year's tournament due to health problems.
The two teams played an exciting game from the start. With the height advantage, the Kazakhstan hitters made many finishing shots behind the 3m line as well as dropping into the gaps behind the Vietnamese women's volleyball team's blockers.

However, this was a set in which the Vietnamese girls defended well, while Tu Linh, Kieu Trinh and especially Bich Tuyen continuously scored points. The victory in set 1 belonged to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team, with a score of 25-20.
In set 2, Kazakhstan had a good start, leading 7-4. Coach Tuan Kiet's timely adjustments helped his players play better, shortening the score and taking the lead 17-16.

At the end of the set, the Kazakhstan girls made a mistake with a serve out, then the Vietnamese women's volleyball team successfully defended against 2 consecutive shots from Kazakhstan, and then Bich Tuyen ended the second set with a strong smash to the left corner of the court. Victory 25-22 for Vietnam!.

With nothing left to lose, the Kazakh girls played very hard in set 3. The two teams fought for every point. The advantage in physique and physical strength helped the Central Asian team have flexibility in their playing style.
For their part, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team played solidly, waiting for their opponents to make a mistake. Bich Tuyen's brilliance helped coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team tie the score at 15-15.

After being led 16-19, Coach Tuan Kiet was forced to ask for a meeting to make timely adjustments for his players. Bich Tuyen's powerful shots and good blocking from Kieu Trinh and Le Thanh Thuy helped the yellow team take the lead 22-20, then ended the set with a 25-22 victory when their opponents failed to hit the ball over the net.

With a convincing 3-0 victory over Kazakhstan, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team successfully defended the AVC Challenge Cup championship. This is the first international title for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team in 2024.
