
On October 25, the National Assembly continued to conduct personnel work at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, with 429/430 delegates participating in the vote in favor (equal to 90.51% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung.
With the two newly appointed personnel, the Government leadership currently has 10 people including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and 9 Deputy Prime Ministers: Nguyen Hoa Binh (Permanent Deputy Prime Minister), Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son, Nguyen Chi Dung, Mai Van Chinh, Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung.
The Resolution takes effect from the date of approval by the National Assembly on October 25, 2025.
Previously, on October 24, the National Assembly passed: Resolution on supplementing the number of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 15th National Assembly term; Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss a number of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term (removal of Mr. Bui Thanh Son from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs; dismissal of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra from the position of Minister of Home Affairs).
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra was born on January 21, 1964, hometown: Nghe An province. She has a political theory degree: advanced, professional qualifications: bachelor of Literature Pedagogy, master of Education Management.
Ms. Tra is a member of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms; a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
During her career, she held the following positions: Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union; Head of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Military Party Committee; Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
From April 2021 to present, she has been a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Minister of Home Affairs. On January 24, 2025, Ms. Tra was appointed by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was born on August 15, 1966, hometown: Binh Dinh province (old); political theory level: advanced; professional level: Master of Law. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
During his working career, Mr. Dung held the following positions: Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province (former); Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province (former); Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province (former).
On June 30, 2025, he was appointed by the Central Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term.
On October 3, at the 1st Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the representative of the Central Organizing Committee announced the Politburo's Decision on agreeing to let Mr. Ho Quoc Dung stop participating in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, stop holding the position of Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary for the term 2025-2030 and related positions so that the Central Committee can carry out the process of introducing and electing the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the term 2021-2026.
