
On the occasion of the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention) hosted by Vietnam, on the afternoon of October 25, Comrade Nguyen Huy Tien, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam, received and worked with Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the reception, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam Nguyen Huy Tien expressed his delight at the development of the traditional friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco since the two countries established diplomatic relations on March 27, 1961; thanked the Government and Kingdom of Morocco for always creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Morocco to stabilize their lives and integrate into the local society.
Affirming that Vietnam's hosting of the Hanoi Convention signing ceremony also demonstrates Vietnam's strong determination in its efforts to build a safe, fair and transparent digital environment, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam Nguyen Huy Tien emphasized that the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam is ready to cooperate with law enforcement agencies of countries around the world, including Morocco, to effectively combat cybercrime and build a safe, healthy and trustworthy cyberspace.

As the agency in charge of drafting the revised Criminal Procedure Code, the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam will study and internalize the provisions of the Hanoi Convention to ensure full implementation of Vietnam's international commitments when participating in the Convention.
The fact that the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice of Morocco have negotiated in good faith to sign the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the two countries also demonstrates the determination and responsibility of the two sides in perfecting the legal framework for cooperation in the fight against crime between Vietnam and Morocco.
For his part, Moroccan Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi affirmed: The United Nations' choice of Hanoi as the place to sign the Convention on Combating Cybercrime demonstrates the international community's trust in Vietnam - a stable country with prestige in multilateral cooperation.
Agreeing with the assessment of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam on the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Morocco, Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi affirmed his desire to strengthen cooperation with the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam in the fight against crime, including cybercrime, on the basis of the Hanoi Convention and the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the two countries.

After the reception, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam Nguyen Huy Tien and Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdellatif Ouahbi, on behalf of the two states, signed the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Morocco, consisting of 22 Articles, after being signed, ratified and coming into force, will be an important legal foundation with high binding value to implement cooperation activities in investigation, evidence collection, information exchange, recovery of assets from crimes... between the two countries, contributing to the strong and timely fight against all types of crimes, ensuring security, safety, maintaining peace, stability and development of the region and the world.
