Vietnam's National Assembly ready to promote policies to support bilateral cooperation with Jordan

On the afternoon of November 12, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan on the occasion of the King and a high-ranking delegation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's official visit to Vietnam from November 12-13, 2025.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly welcomed King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein on his official visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1980 - 2025), marking an important milestone, opening a new, deeper and more effective phase of cooperation in Vietnam - Jordan relations.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that despite the geographical distance, the two countries have a friendly and close relationship, built on the foundation of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, contributing to peace , stability and development in the region and the world.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man appreciated Jordan's efforts in promoting peace, stability and development in the Middle East, as well as the leadership role of the King of Jordan in promoting humanistic values, social justice and global food security.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam is ready to promote multi-faceted cooperation with Jordan on the basis of mutual benefit; emphasizing that the Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to create favorable legal conditions, promote policies to support bilateral cooperation, and coordinate in supervising the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries, thereby promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Sharing the great losses that the Vietnamese people have suffered after recent natural disasters, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein expressed his admiration for the indomitable spirit, tradition of diligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people and the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times. In the context that both countries are promoting the implementation of socio-economic development policies, the King hopes that the two countries will promote cooperation in all fields, especially between the two private sectors.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully thanked the King of Jordan for sharing his condolences over Vietnam's losses caused by natural disasters, and informed about the human and material damage that the Vietnamese people had suffered in the recent floods.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein agreed that the two sides need to strengthen political trust and promote cooperation in defense and security through the exchange of delegations at all levels. In the economic field, the two leaders agreed to facilitate each country's strong products and promote cooperation in the fields of high-tech agriculture, textiles, renewable energy, logistics, health care, etc. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed expanding cultural and educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges through student exchanges, scholarships, tourism and culture so that the younger generations of the two nations can better understand and connect. To achieve this goal, the King of Jordan suggested that the two sides consider opening a direct flight route between the two countries.

The two leaders also agreed that the legislative bodies of the two countries need to enhance the effectiveness of parliamentary cooperation, considering this one of the important pillars in the overall bilateral relations between Vietnam and Jordan. On this occasion, through the King, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his regards and reiterated the invitation to the leaders of Jordan's two houses to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time to deepen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
