Planning for preservation and restoration of Tho Tang Communal House relic, Vinh Phuc province
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 558/QD-TTg dated June 24, 2024 approving the Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national historical, architectural and artistic relic Tho Tang Communal House.

The planning objectives aim to preserve and promote the historical, cultural, architectural, and artistic values of Tho Tang Communal House, transforming it into a showcase and tribute to Vietnamese folk culture and art, linked to village cultural institutions; contributing to the education of the younger generation about national cultural traditions; and ensuring seamless integration with the system of historical sites in Vinh Tuong district and Vinh Phuc province.
Forming attractive cultural and historical tourist attractions, connecting with other relics, attractions and tourist attractions of Vinh Phuc province to create a rich chain of tourism products, contributing to the development of local socio-economy.
At the same time, it is necessary to define the boundaries of the protected historical site, providing a legal basis for marking the site's boundaries; to identify functional areas, residential areas, and areas for environmental landscape protection; and to organize the space and arrange the transportation and technical infrastructure systems in accordance with the stages of preservation and promotion of the historical site's value...
Spatial organization planning
According to the Plan, for Zone I of the protected area, the boundaries of the protected area will remain as stated in the monument ranking dossier. The original monument components will be restored and renovated, including: Tho Tang communal house (approximately 598 m2); the communal house gate (approximately 168 m2); and the communal house pond (lotus pond) (approximately 453 m2). Auxiliary structures directly serving the protection and promotion of the monument's value will also be constructed.
For the area surrounding the historical site along Nguyen Thai Hoc Street (section from Tho Tang bus station to Giang market): Form a green buffer zone connecting the historical site with surrounding areas; this will serve as a protective belt and provide supplementary services for the site, with strict management of architectural and landscape layout according to the regulations of the approved general planning for the construction of Tho Tang town.
Orientation towards promoting the value of historical sites in conjunction with tourism development.
The main tourism products include: historical and cultural tourism; handicraft village tourism; and tourism combined with shopping for local products and specialties.
This includes developing tourism products associated with the Tho Tang Temple Festival; researching and adding artistic performances, some types of sports, and local folk games to increase the festival's attractiveness; and developing tourism products that explore the history, culture, architecture, and art of the Tho Tang Temple relic and its valuable artifacts.
Tourism routes: Develop tourism routes based on the core elements that create the value of the relic as the nucleus in tourism development. Organize intra-district and intra-provincial tours, and themed tours connecting Tho Tang Temple with other tourist destinations in the district and province such as Phuong Vien Temple, Tung Van Pagoda, Truc Lam Temple, Thu Do Temple, Dam Rung Eco-tourism Area… contributing to enhancing the experience for tourists.
